Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Blue/Red/Pink Semi-Permanent Hair Dye?

Okay, so I have ashy-blonde hair, pretty bright but not like bleach-blonde bright. A while back I was looking at some semi-permanent colours, a bright blue in particular, in a shop close to where I live. I was also contemplating the spray cans of colour they do in Boots (ColourFX).

Anyone had any experience with either of these kinds of things? I kinda want something different, but don't want to spend a fortune trying to get my hair back to the colour it is now after the drama of the blue wears off :P I imagine in that case, spray would be better. So any info on how this goes on, how it looks, texture of hair and how long it lasts would be great :)

For any colour change from blonde i ALWAYS say consult a professional hairdresser for advice, iv had my hair soooo many colours over the years, home colours and hairdresser dyed but i wud never mess with my hair when it was blonde i always consulted my hairdresser.. Especially when ur talking mad colours..

I did the wash-out dye one in purple, it turns your hair pretty grey after a few weeks. Definitely dulls your colour.

As for the spray ones, personally I think they're awful, I used one when I was 12 for fancy dress and it gave me dizzy spells and made me drowsy. My reaction might have been some kinda allergy but I certainly wouldn't recommend them after that!

If you're willing to put more blonde hues into your hair afterwards, I'd say go for the wash-out dye. Your only young once :) I certainly don't regret doing it, even if it did take a bit of time and money to get my old colour back. Pink is easier to get out too, not so dull afterwards. Haven't tried red.

Definitely wouldn't mind the pink, just fancy something a bit crazy. I've had my hair mad colours before, blue is just one I havn't tried yet, but didn't really want to put it in and be stuck with weird hair for months after. Mind you my hairdresser charges the same for an all-over colour as she does for my roots, so I might as well give it a lash and let her fix it when I get roots :P
