    Hello all
We have an electric gate at the entrance to the house which is being tampered with at night by local vandals. It's the actual gate and keypad which are being interefered with.
Does anyone know if there is some form of extra security that we can ad so that an alarm goes off or a security alert is sent to us so that we can ward off these kids in future? I guess we would want something that only responds when forcefully tampered with and is not TOO sensitive
If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations I would be very glad to hear them
If there are any web links to info please send them on too

    Regards
    DG

What type controller have you installed on the gate?

Most would have a contact or relay you could use to tell if they are open or closed.

A vandal proof intercom and keypad would help, if it’s nuisance calls on the intercom in the middle of the might then a simple timer to switch it off would work.
Are the kids forcing the gate and damaging the motors, an electric lock would secure the gate.
Motion detection or photocells connected to one of these might work

Have you given thought to Infrared CCTV cameras positioned in such a way that they are viewing the gate and hopefully providing a detterent.

Stick a 230v power supply the the gates and the controls cover! Haha
Add a sensor light with caged cover
Possibly connect your alarm system to the devices
If they are loitering look online for one of those noise detterents that only teenagers can hear
They wont go near the gate if you have two nice big dogs behind them!
