Hopefully your are right but playoffs first season may give him some breathing room

    Giants are usually pateient enough

In other news we suck enough that we would have the 1st pick if the season ended today

Going to be a long season :(

Unless something unexpected happens, we will be coming out of the bye week 0-7. Looking at our records since 2012 we have been average at best. Maybe last year was the blip and this is what we really are - mediocre.

Yup we were a team that lost close games and are back to that team this yeat

    Last year was the outlier

    Very good article

Rebuild or make a 2018 run? What's next for 0-5 Giants

    The false hope of 2016

When I included the Giants among five teams likely to decline in 2017, I pointed out several elements of their 2016 season which were unsustainable. They've all cropped up as issues this season:

They were lucky to win a disproportionate number of their close games. Much of the Giants' improvement between 2015 and 2016 came down to their performance in games decided by seven points or fewer. Both the 2015 and 2016 Giants were 3-2 in games decided by eight or more points, but the 2015 Giants were 3-8 in the close contests, while the 2016 Giants went 8-3. There was no reason to think they would continue to win nearly 75 percent of their close games on an annual basis.

So far, the Giants have regressed way past the mean. They're 0-3 in one-score games, and the margin with which they've lost those games has been remarkably thin. They were about to go into overtime with the Eagles until some bad clock management gave Philadelphia a possession and a shot at a game-winning 61-yard field goal, which itself is incredibly unlikely. They failed on a two-point conversion in Tampa and set up Nick Folk to hit a game-winning 34-yard field goal, which is notable given that Folk is otherwise 1-of-6 on field goals over the past two weeks. On Sunday, they somehow managed to lose a one-score game to the Chargers by turning the ball over and setting up Los Angeles with a short field and a game-winning touchdown.

NFL Network saying Giants believe Beckham has broken his leg

Fractured ankle is what they believe now.

As long as he comes back OK it is not too bad. No point having him out there with this **** for the rest of the season, the big fear is that we go about things in a way to piss him off with his contract and he holds out.

McAdoo, Reese and Eli need to go, time for a new direction and that can only happen with those 3 gone. Reese & Eli have been living off past glories for far too long and it is exceptionally hard to like McAdoo or believe he is the right person for the job.

Unfortunately it looks like being a long rebuild any way we go in the offseason

I actually think Eli has been fairly good this season, considering what's going on around him.

For argument same though knex, would you take the opportunity to see what Webb can do?? At 0-5 we're now at a point of getting that Top 5 Pick and nothing else from this season

Brandon Marshall is done for the season, and his giants career i would imagine

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,041 ✭✭✭boccy23

We should not stick Webb in. He has no receivers, no running game and a suspect O-Line. Not the basis to make a decision on whether he can provide an option going forward.

DRC walked out today so he's been suspended (breaking story)

Edit: Collins has said McAdoo and DRC had some sort of altercation on sunday

Jackrabbit left the field for the last two snaps the last day apparently as well. Apple said something about the culture needing to change... Things don't look good.

In 5 weeks we have gone from:
Playoff contender to potential 1st overall pick
Top 10 defense to bottom 10 defense
Feared recieving corps to no receiving corps
    Lost locker room

Worse comment there is that we have become the Jets

    A frightening thought

The first sign for the Giants came late in Sunday’s crushing 27-22 loss to the previously winless Chargers at MetLife Stadium, when their $62 million cornerback Janoris Jenkins decided he didn’t want to play the last couple plays so he departed for the locker room before the game ended.

When McAdoo was asked on Monday about Jenkins’ distasteful disappearing act, he said, “We’ll handle all those issues in-house.” Jenkins ducked reporters after the game and hasn’t been in the locker room during media availability the last two days

Players are now deciding what downs they want to play. Anyone know Tom Coughlins number?? (i joke........sort of!)

The more the story expands the worse it looks

This is a respected veteran throwing a hissy fit

    Not looking good

Can we just suspend McAdoo, permanently, and move on please.

DRC has arguably been our most consistent player since he joined us. 9 year veteran. I'd have pegged him as a model pro.

From the oversized suit on day 1 to this fiasco, it appears clear the HC job in NY was/is to big for McAdoo with the pressures and scrutiny it brings

The slicked back hair and arrogance he spoke with to the media before the opener against Dallas, honestly, I can't take the man seriously. Not sure how the players could.

    DRC is suspended indefinitely now

Max suspension allowed under the CBA is 4 weeks.. DRC loses $410k each week he's suspended

He can be released after the 4 weeks if the team decides they don't want him anymore

Eli to the Jags to be re-united with Coughlin is a story being hyped up by a few news sites with the trade deadline approaching.

Interested to hear what Giants fans take on this is? From the outside Eli has been fine this year, OL and now no WR's hasn't given him a chance. Potentially strong draft to grab his successor this year and rebuild?

  • Registered Users Posts: 661 ✭✭✭derm0j073

With the amount of players getting injured/suspended and what looks like McAdoo losing the dressing room trading Eli would be a really bad idea .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Eli has a no trade clause. Doubt he'll waive it.

    Jags would be delighted

No excuse for Ben McAdoo not discussing DRC suspension with Giants players

Coach admits he still hasn’t spoken to team about it

Today is Friday. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie bolted the New York Giants’ practice facility on Tuesday and got suspended. Coach Ben McAdoo told media Friday morning that he still has not addressed the subject with players, and would do so “at the appropriate time.”

    WHAT?

Wouldn’t the “appropriate time” have been Tuesday when it happened and before media got into the locker room and started asking questions about something many players apparently didn’t even know about yet?

If not then, wouldn’t the “appropriate time” have at least been on Wednesday when the team made it official that DRC, a veteran presence and popular player with his teammates, would be suspended indefinitely?

For crying out loud, wouldn’t the “appropriate time” have been ANY TIME in the past three days?

Instead, the questions have been allowed to fester inside the Giants locker room.

It’s no wonder, then, that there are reports that players are united in unhappiness with their head coach. It’s no wonder that we are debating things like whether or not the job of head coach is too big for McAdoo.

    It's turning into a circus

Osi said on the BBC NFL show that the Giants are slow to fire coaches, so he'll probably hang on for a while. He is totally mismanaging this situation though.
