Fuck sake. Stevie was a class act last season. This sucks.

Kenny P has been released. He must be a mess.

The Giants announced their updated 75-man roster Sunday by placing safety Stevie Brown on season-ending injured reserve and releasing 14 players, including veteran linebacker Aaron Curry.

In addition to Curry, the players released today were:

    Fullback Ben Guidugli

Wide receivers Brandon Collins (who faces a four-game NFL suspension at the beginning of the season) and Terrence Sinkfield

Tight ends Jamie Childers and Chase Clement

Offensive linemen Michael Jasper and Austin Holtz

Linebackers Jake Muasau and Etienne Sabino

    Defensive tackle Frank Okam

Defensive Backs Laron Scott, Junior Mertile and Alonzo Tweedy.

TE Robinson came off tonight with a foot injury apparently.

But, at long last, the offence got to the Red Zone and actually managed a TD. Eli threw to Nicks for 3 yards.

Brown just went off injured too.

Ah Christ. Rotten luck the past few weeks.

Lot of pressure on Wilson now next week. Any word on how bad it may be?

Nope. I saw him walk off though. Hopefully it's minor.

    Aye. Article from NFL.com

    Preseason gets worse.
The New York Giants have lost Andre Brown again.

The running back suffered a fractured left leg during the second quarter of Thursday night's preseason finale against the New England Patriots. It's unclear how much time he'll miss.

Brown -- wearing a walking boot -- downplayed the injury after the Giants' 28-20 loss.

"It's not that bad of a break," he said, according to the New York Daily News. "Just a tiny crack. ... Not that serious. ... No surgery."

Brown was injured when a helmet hit his leg. He fractured the same leg in November, ending his 2012 season after 10 games.

It's a substantial loss for the Giants, who were counting on a big contribution from Brown as a third-down and goal-line back. It also sets the stage for an even bigger role for David Wilson, who capped an excellent preseason with 36 yards on seven carries against the Patriots. Wilson averaged nearly 7.5 yards per rush over four preseason games.

Ryan Torain and Da'Rel Scott are two in-house options who could step into a bigger role. Torain's ability as a pass protector might give him the edge. The Giants also could look at outside help, with the likes of Cedric Benson and Willis McGahee available.

Tough preseason with the loss of Brown and Brown. Maybe it's something in the name.

Jake Ballard has been released by the Pats, he seems to be walking with a permanent limp since his ACL injury. He even admitted a few weeks ago that he won't be the player he once was. He primarily played as a blocker for us during the preseason and I don't believe he even caught a pass. Tough break for the kid, but 18 months out from surgery the signs never looked good for him.

Tyler Sash n Ramses Barden cut. Matt McCants, Matt Broha, Charles James, David Caldwell and Stephen Goodin also gone.

So much potential with Barden and he never put it all together (bar that one night in Carolina)

    David Carr cut.

Goodnight sweet prince. Gone but not forgotten.

Be surprised if the likes of Ojomo didn't get on a roster somewhere else. Giants where really stacked deep on defensive line side of things.

Real pity about our linebackers when you look at the above defensive depth chart. I honestly think there's a real quality group to work from other than that. Cullen Jenkins has impressed me with what he can do when I've seen him this offseason.

Ojomo & Tracey def be good enough for a few teams (the raiders an obvious one)

Cruz and JPP back training today, apparently.

Cruz took part in the non padded training and supposedly looked good. JPP has some way to go before he's ready.

Interesting day. Andre Brown placed on short term IR so eligible to play after week 8 (be week 10 vs Raiders due to our bye)

Adewale Ojomo added to the 53 man roster rather than a RB.

Seems like DaRel Scott will be given a shot against the cowgirls but most likely we will sign a vet RB next week so we don't have to pay them for a full year. Looks to be either Beanie Wells or Jonathan Dwyer

The problem with signing a veteran is that if we have him on our roster week 1 and he is vested, he is guaranteed his minimum veteran salary for the year. So you'll see a raft of veteran signings after week 1 when such a guarantee is not in place.

Next weeks game against the Broncos looks worrying. Considering the form of Peyton & the Broncos offense and the state of the Giants secondary

Yeah but we have a habit of puttin in big performances when we're written off; 49ers, Pats, Packers etc.

Lets get over Romo & the cowgirls Sunday night 1st.

Need Eli to have a big game as he struggled badly against them last year. If the new o-line holds up think we can win.

We need a new running back. Wilson's pass blocking is still atrocious.

    No RB
    No LB'ers
    No chance

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

It was like watching roles reversed last night we were so comically bad. I guess David Wilson will be back on kick return duties never o have another carry for the giants again & we will be signing a starting running back off the street this week.

I fear for what will happen next Sunday night

Might need one of those next week or else the Giants are staring into the abyss
