With our new arrival 9 months old and crawling like a mad thing we have decided to give our current stairs a makeover due to child safety reasons. With our new arrival 9 months old and crawling like a mad thing we have decided to give our current stairs a makeover due to child safety reasons.

We will be laying a new stairs over the existing one. We are planning to go with white oak. We will be keeping the carpet on the steps but replacing the Banisters, Indents, Newel Posts.

The new stairs will require two & a half newel posts, new oak indents along the side of the stairs plus new Banisters. The stairs is standard size for a 3 bed semi.

Any recommendations of companies supplying this service would be appreciated. We got a quote of €1700 fitted last week.
