Scotchguard Fabric (or similar) protector?

We got a lovely wool carpet last weekend. Before the ankle biters & the dog go to work on it, I want to apply a fabric protector. Last couple of times I got carpets laid, the lads put stuff into a garden sprayer and applied it, diluted. I think it's Scotchguard but this seems impossible to purchase as a DIYer. Any…

Any recommendations for what to apply to a 2m by 2m rug?

Maybe I should just contact my carpet guy & get him to do it?

3M scotchgard carpet protector.

I saw it recently in a carpet shop but I cannot for the life of me remember!

It may have been TC Matthews.
