Adventure Racing to get International Body

The Spanish Orienteering Federation has put a proposal to the IOF to take the lead in bringing AR properly onto the World stage. It will be voted on at the General Assembly is Switzerland.

Not sure how the AR community in general will react to the idea of a governing body.

I definitely like the idea of it coming under the orienteering umbrella. Probably the best fit for the sport in any existing organisation. The best organised ARs usually have experienced orienteers involved in the organisation.

And indeed it does illustrate that all the multi-sports events mis-labelling themselves as adventure races in this country are nothing of the kind.
