Man charged with stealling tip jar from Griffins

    This was being discussed in another (locked) thread a couple of weeks ago. The attention brought to it through the youtube video helped this "person" be identified.

    From this weeks sentinel:
    A 34-YEAR old city man is due to appear before Galway District Court next Wednesday in relation to the theft of a ‘tip jar’ from a busy city centre café last Saturday afternoon.

    Gardai are understood to have arrested the man on Tuesday afternoon after viewing CCTV footage of the theft from Griffin’s Bakery on Shop Street.

    Staff at the café were inundated with messages of support since owner Jimmy Griffin uploaded footage of the theft onto the You Tube website last
    weekend.

    The video had attracted over 9,200 ‘hits’ by the close of business yesterday.
