Has anyone else noticed Valencia playing a lot less aggressively with Rafael behind him? He's still making his usual runs, but seems like he's doing it less to me, knowing that he has pacey Rafael behind him to help with runs/crosses. Maybe it's nothing, just something I noticed.

    YOUNG! ARGH! Should have scored!

What was I saying? Never mind...

Valencia and Young nearly teaming up for a great goal there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,676 ✭✭✭thunderdog

Amazing that only 9.5% of people have Evans in their teams....even Ferguson for Newcastle has more ownership

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,844 ✭✭✭carlcon

    Rooney subbed!

    Scholes on.

This means Young and Val are likely to push up more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Now Young, score that hattrick please!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,844 ✭✭✭carlcon

Now Scholes has banjaxed Dempsey. Would be sick if Dempsey got anything after transferring him out this week.

I'll be getting in rooney in, probably tonight but surely there has to be at least some chance that he won't pick up the 3 bonus points.

He didn't do much but score but with the bonus point system, it could be his only touch in a 1-0 win and he'll get them. Bit of a joke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

How was that not a penalty?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,844 ✭✭✭carlcon

Evans's clean sheet blessed there. Surely that was a peno.

only one goal for Rooney, I'll take that

    Bonus point predictions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Evans to get 3 BPs. United spent about 60 minutes passing it around the backline, surely do his PPI stats the world of good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,844 ✭✭✭carlcon

Looks like one of those FF weeks that's best swept under the rug.

Just about reached the 50 point mark I assigned myself at the start of the season as minimum target, so I'll take that.

Happy to have Walcott, but very disappointed in captain RVP. Should have had something from Young too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,691 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

53 points with surely BPs to come for capt Rooney and Evans, outside chance for Young as well, quite a few shots on target for him. Happy enough with that.

    Hoping JEvans gets the bonii

63 pts should stay in second place in boards league. Should be some bonus pts on the way for evans.

    Rooney
    Evans, and
    Valencia

By coincidence the 3 United players I have on my team...

    Probably......

    3 Bryan Ruiz
    2 Danny Murphy
    2 Kerim Frei
    1 Pogrebnyak

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,416 ✭✭✭Jimmy Iovine

Rooney and Evans surely to battle it out for the 3 and 2 BPs.

Dunno about the last one. Young might get it. He had a few shots on target, 3 that I can think of. Valencia didn't have any. That might swing it his way.

Feckin lost by a single point in my head to head this week gick.... Picked the wrong person as captain.

41 points in the end hoped for better but i guess could of been worse.

Have two free transfers for next week looking at a few players i could be getting rid of.

Ba Skrtel maybe even Bale or Dempsey to.

Bit of work to be done so if i want to try and break into the top 30 in the Boards league.

57 this week. Fairly happy with that one. considering the people around be had 10-20 less than me going into the united game which I had evra, rooney (c) and valencia.

Do you mind me asking why you have Evra? You could have Evans for 2.4 million less.

I think he's more of an attacking threat as well. Evra is hit and miss going forward imo. Sometimes he looks like Messi with his dribbling. Other times he is absolutely shocking, giving the ball away left right and centre.

Well, Evra is less likely to face the rotation chop. that's part of the reason.
Also, you say that Evans is more of an attacking threat but I'd rather take Evrs's 5 assists compared to Evans' 1 goal and two assists any day.

Personally, I'm fairly happy at how my team is looking and the only major weakness I have is my defence. Something I already have 2Million the bank to take care of.
Here's my score from this week.

I seem to be profiting from making early transfers so I've already made mine for the next gameweek.

Think (and hope) it will be Evans 3, Rooney 2, Young 1

Rafael 3, Evans 3, Carrick 1.........really disappointed that Rooney (c) didn't get any.

On the flip side I had RVP as captain so i am both surprised and delighted Rooney did not get any BP :D

    Johnny Evans...what a legend!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,936 ✭✭✭AdpRo

Ended up with 43 for the week, not bad considering 8 players on my team combined for a huge total of 16 points, my 3 Utd players then got me 27 points last night!! As a Liverpool fan I feel dirty praising Utd players but they ensure I remain in with a chance in my money league!!

Ha ha carrick was woeful last night - you gotta laugh. Loving none for rooney. JEvans my star performer 2 weeks in a row now

Evans gets me up to the golden figure of 50. Glad Rooney didn't get any.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,138 ✭✭✭thegreengoblin

Was pissed off I didn't captain Rooney but if I had I would be livid right now. Go Jonny go! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

52 points gives me green arrows all round.Happy with that seeing as the bulk of my points came from 3 players.

Weird how Rooney got the only goal but no BP's........they must use a fruit machine to pick players for BP's at times, whichever 3 names line up gets the points.

Carrick wasn't awful. He controlled the game and had some nice passes. Wasn't deserving of a BP in the new system though.

Happy to find out that Rooney didn't get any BPs. Makes my choice of RVP as captain not as much of a disaster.

Personally thought he was - gave away the ball twice in first half in bad positions, when Fulham were playing well between 15th and 35th mins, which could of lead to goals. As usual a lot of simple sideways passes (not knocking - just im guessing it helps his stats hence the BP). Could have given away a penalty. Although he did make one class block but he was far from good in my opinion.

He had a 92% pass rating, which is pretty standard for him these days.

He's not as exciting as Rooney or Valencia but he definitely gets the job done. I can remember one pass he gave to Rafael, over the left shoulder about 50 yards. Absolutely perfect pass and it set up an attack.

He's never going to get any plaudits but as long as he keeps putting in good performances United have a great chance of winning the title.

I did think Rooney would get a BP ahead of him, if only for the goal.

I'm supposed to be taking a break for a few days, but figured I'd log on to share a gif I found of someone who captained Rooney this week, just seeing the BPs for the first time...

Frustrating no bonus for Rooney after getting the captain choice right, would have made up some ground on the majority who went for RvP.
How will do better this week, Rooney or RvP?

Ridiculous BP system is ridiculous, but still, as a RVP (C) person this week, I was pretty delighted to see Roon passed over for the points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

The only surprise with last nights BP's was Rafael getting 3 BP's, should have been 2 or 1. I'm not surprised that Rooney got none. Carrick getting a BP wasnt a surprise to me either considering how general play went

Can't believe Rooney didn't even get 1 bonus pt. Having him as captain and Aguero not playing, meaning Walker came off bench to get me 6 were only good parts of my worst week this season. 37 pts a disaster, red arrows fest :(

35 for me..so this week was another week which has gone down horribly. The last month for me has been an absolute disaster but now with Evans and Valencia in and fulham with some good fixtures coming up my luck will change.
