mario's has always been good.the portions are good and you wont leave feeling hungry or have a big hole in your pocket.

As somebody said above the chicken wings in tribecca are to die for. Also the last time I was there I got a beef fillet special and it was excellent.

The balti house is also serves a decent meal too if hot and spicy is your thing.
Havent had a chance to try the indian next door(kinkara???)

Gourmet burger is fine also if burgers are your thing.....saves a walk to eddie rockets or jo's burgers in rathmines

Tribeca is almost a Dublin institution though Diep Le Noodle, a less formal branch of the incrediby yummy Diep Le Shaker also comes very highly recommended -enjoy! :)

Diep Noodles or Tribecca would be get my vote!

If your up for a short walk, Jo'Burger in Rathmines does the best burger in the city.

I think Diep is closed, the take away is still there but not the restaurant. Tribecca is good, but very overrated IMO and quite expensive.

Gourmet burger in Ranelagh is nicer than Jo'Burger!

Kinara Kitchen is a quality Indian/Pakistani joint. I lived in Tooting Broadway in London for a year which is a bit of a mecca in the South of London for curry houses and Kinara Kitchen would easily be as good or better than the top ones there.

The wings in TriBeCa are amazing though! And you get quite a big amount for what you pay.

Always found gourmet burger to be a bit crap, bad service each time I was there as well. Jo burger is pricy but the burger and chips are great!

Yeah the wings in TriBeCa are lovely, apart form that though it's a bit of a let-down for me.

Was in Gourmet Burger a few months ago and the service was friendly and efficient.

Think I'm one of the few people that found the Tribeca chicken wings absolutely hideous, even the smell of them makes me want to gag (and I'm usually a chicken wing fan).
If you like tapas OP then Ochos in Ranelagh is great!

It's a shame, their tapas were nice. Very odd, it was open as normal one day, closed the next!

Edit: To add to the thread :) If you like sushi, Michie is a small restaurant but absolutely lovely.

I'm not a big fan of them either. The taste like vinegar or something. The ones at the bottom are inedible.
Best chicken wing I've ever had were in Kilrush Co. Clare in The Haven Arms

eatery 120 is very nice, and if you like sushi, michie sushi is one of the best sushi places in Dublin.

Marios is nice for italian :D . Gormet burger Kitchen is nice as well (I'd say burgers nicer than Tribecca), although can at times be a little empty.

Thought the counter was very good the first couple of times I was there but wasn't great when I was in last week.

Long gone I'm afraid. There was a fire and they never reopened.

Dillinger's, or their sister place The Butcher's Grill are fantastic.

    Did you decide yet OP?

Eaterie 120 is tasty and Butcher's Grill has some of the best steak I have had in Ireland. (Although Butcher's Grill is pricey)

I'd say diep will reopen eventually, I'd imagine they made a lot of money in there ranelagh location. Another diep noodle bar just opened in the old dundrum shopping centre.

La Bodega is absolutely excellent food and not too expensive. Its a tapas place. Lovely smoking area out the back and dear god the chocolate fondant is to die for.

Patatas with chorizo, chicken wings and the spicy sausage with fried onions are a few nice dishes.

Can't recommend the place enough. Staff were lovely too.

Went to the Kinara Kitchen because of these posts and it's currently my favourite Indian in ireland now! Really nice food and great service too.
    Thanks for the recommendation!

Went to the new Cinnamon yesterday (bank hol. Monday) about 2pm. It was heaving but the staff managed to stay friendly under severe pressure.

However, I do not like the way the brunch menu (the only one available) was structured. There were no inclusive Irish breakfasts and, weirdly, no sausages of any kind. I had a very good omelette but it came with nothing. Clearly, brunch diners are expected to get extra side dishes and this makes things a bit pricy.

Still, good quality and nice staff. I may go again at a quieter time.

Thnk god for no irish breakfast for a change - the smell of the traditional fry can be offputting and linger in a restaurant for the whole day, destroying the atmosphere.
Is the omelette not enormous, or do you have to get the one with ham/tomatoes in it?
In any event, from memory, are the extras not all €1.50 so hardly extravagant
