Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Foundation Going Blotchy During The Day?

I use Loreal Visible Lift Serum Inside Foundation, it gives great coverage without being too heavy, and gives a real flawless look after application! I also moisturise using Nivea every morning, and use Gosh Primer before applying foundation, then follow up with a light dusting of nude loose powder all over.

During the day, especially in work, as I tend to have my hands resting on my chin, or around my jaw line, my makeup gets quite blotchy in places, and I have the big white mark around where my hands were, and brown everywhere else! I also find it sort of "gathers" around my cheeks, and nose area!

Can anyone recommend ways that I can ensure my make up stays even throughout the day (I am working on taking my hands away from my face!)?

I use the Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Setting Spray and find it great, maybe you could try that. I think ELF and Mac do a similar one as well but don't know what they are like

Although you're happy with you're foundation after application, maybe it's worth considering one that's more long lasting? There's a thread with recommendations. Other than that, maybe try leaving moisturiser and primer a little longer before applying foundation, or switch out you're primer for another one?

It sounds like the products you're using dont "go" together well like one is water based and another oil based. They look good at the start but then starting to slide over eachother and causing the problems you talk about. Which Nivea is it? If it's the blue tub then this one can tend to be oily and might be your problem? Maybe switch to something like oil of ulay which is a bit lighter and see if that helps.

There's a rule i was told years ago, okay a tip then!

    Powder on powder
    cream on cream/liquid on liquid
    gel on gel

Ie ,you're using a (i would assume rich?) nivea mosituriser cream (always allow a cream to set for 2mins before applying primer (its 3mins for primer!))

the gosh primer (is it the original one or the cream one?) if its the original one the moisturiser you use, should be a very thin layered one - that way it doesnt counter-act when you apply your primer ..and finally your foundation ; I alike another person would recommend you go for a long lasting one, and if you are applying a liquid one, use a setting spray (e.l.f, mac do sprays) don't use finishing powder as stated above, powder on powder not powder on liquid/cream!

    Hope this helps :)

Sometimes using a thick moisturizer and then applying a primer is a bad thing! Your foundation can slide of your face. Try using just one and see how your foundation reacts.
