I'm thinking of getting a Husquavarna CTH 174 for a 1 acre site with slight incline in front and steep slope at back. Does anyone have any experience with them or any other recommendations?

    Thanks in advance

not a bad machine, previous model of this could not reverse with the blades ingauged, made it a pain when turning or working around a tight ,, ask that question first, would not buy if that is still same

its the brand new model only out less than a month so no one will have much experience. it has a pressure lubricated engine so will be good on a slope
driveinto the slope up and down, not sideways on

According to the Husqvarna dealer support site the differences between the 174 and 173 are the 174 has a reinforced cutting deck and electric blade engagement

Yes there is a reinforcing bar spot welded on both sides of the deck to make it stronger however it may also act as a water trap, the deck engagement has changed but won't affect the performance.
It's a great machine. The Johore 597cc engine is same as one fitted to 194 so if dealer tunes it,
It will be just as strong, big change in now it has pedal hydrostatic drive instead of side mounted handle which will really improve operator control and familiarity.
Should be a great machine. Where donyou live
