I have an applied degree obtained outside of the EU as a Radiographer but after 10years in the field I am board and looking for a complete change.
I was wondering does any of the Universities or any where else offer guidance on choosing courses to study or careers to pursue? Also where do you start to obtain advice on costs and entitlements for study?

I was always loved Physics, Maths, Economics, and Biology and didn’t mind Chemistry. I was a reasonable achiever in these fields. I also would love to learn more about computer software and ergonomics etc. I have thought about maybe doing a second broader degree in a Maths Physics combination, and seeing where it leads to; but could really do with some sound advice and guidance.

Usually career guidance from colleges is restricted to their students. There are the AEGI (Adult Educational Guidance Initiative) services across the country but not all of them provide career guidance to the general public although you should be able to get information on course options and funding supports from them.

You can find the contact info under the 'Services' page on their association website: http://www.aegai.ie

Alternatively the Institute of Guidance Counsellors keeps a register of private practitioners which is available on their website: http://www.igc.ie

Edit: You can also get information on all third level courses in Ireland from the National Courses Database: http://www.qualifax.ie

That will give me a great place to start researching from.
Im at the point were it is either study for a new career or go on the overseas road again to Holland or back to NZ. (Pity I only speak one language, and cant spell in that one!) :p
