Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To those who got the customer service advisor job can I ask roughly how many years’ customer care experience the most experienced person that got the job has? The reason I ask is I think I might have too much customer care experience for this role (although I know theirs 100’s of possible reasons) I’ve applied before and got no response so I’m going to apply again, just wondering if someone can tell me a rough guess of how experienced the most experienced people getting the customer care job are?

Congratulations and well done to all that got a job with Sky, it looks like a really good company to work for!

Wish I saw this before I went for my second assessment. First part went ok, but the role play (on phone) was a disaster. Nerves kicked in and I messed up badly, pretty much blowing my chances.

Would love to do it again.

Does anyone know if you can re-apply if you are unsuccessful?

  • Registered Users Posts: 109 ✭✭tripper63

I wouldn't be to worried they provide training as long as you didn't come across as a absolute knob you be alright

So that's it, second (final) assessment took place today. Was such a nerve recking experience. However, it was such a great experience too, I know if I do get offered a position that it's truly because I deserve it.

I done loads of research trying to find out hints and tips not only for todays assessment but also for the first. After going through both days I can tell you that NOTHING can prepare you. Just come, be yourself, and use the materials they provide you with.

Just remember to be polite, mannerly, respectful and INDIVIDUAL

Best of Luck to everybody else...

Cheers for that. Just hoping that I had impressed them enough before the disastrous final group role play, to give me a chance.

Just waiting for the dreaded rejection email, or phone call.

Ok did the assesments got the vrbal offer - got my contract by e mail this yestrday --went on the sky portal thing gave all my bank acc details etc - does this mean that all the checks are complete and its a deffo start so i can give notice or is there still a paper contract to come in the mail or whats the crac there anyone know ?????

  • Registered Users Posts: 109 ✭✭tripper63

Hi david well done great news
no the checks are continuing they are very thorough they may even go on even after you have started training depending on how complicated your cv is. you should print your e mail contract. good to have a copy. sky is literally a paperless office when you begin you'll see what i mean. thankfully that rule doesnt go as far as the toilet. phew

  • Registered Users Posts: 31 mcnially

    Yea,
It's a verbal offer too until all checks are clear...
    Then receive contract via email...
Went for the 7-3:30 shift mate

  • Registered Users Posts: 109 ✭✭tripper63

well done david the late shift suits a lot of people who dont like the early mornings today another section of the top floor was opened the place is huge now- suarez what role are you doing? first four weeks will comprise of theory and e learning but you will be out on the floor now that the centre has gone live to get a first hand taste of what to expect

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 SuarezLFC

Sales advisor role trippier! Looking forward to it as in my job now people we ring don't want do be called and usually go mad or hang up haha but I presume most the people want to talk to u in this job. Buzzin to start.

  • Registered Users Posts: 109 ✭✭tripper63

hey suarez huge interest in the broadband package at minute safe to say you'll be busy for sure we have few classes in for the broadband specifically and a few new sales team when january 7th comes the place will be hopping- it's no exaggeration the sky ethos lives up to the hype amazing place to work at- very customer focused i am sure you'll love it the first meet and greet is great crack have to say gives you a taste of whats to come .. there is one buzz word i wont give it away .. bingo

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 SuarezLFC

Ah I kno wat that's all about done with the Aviva nd there was like 120 of us there nd 100 people trying to jump the lad in the red jumper hahahaha early start for me starting but wud rather that than having no life for four weeks been out all day

  • Registered Users Posts: 109 ✭✭tripper63

hey suarez sounds to me you'll fit in perfectly so don't give the suprise away but i can assure you there are a few more suprises ahead for you that you may not suspect or see coming - the training is intensive and you have no choice but to participate and by doing this the class mates bond really quickly the four weeks will just go so fast and before you know it you'll be out on the phones and like you said no cold calling :) so thats a plus

  • Registered Users Posts: 109 ✭✭tripper63

early shift was my choice having your dinner break at 11.45 am takes a bit of getting used to

Ye that's what u need to enjoy work been able to enjoy the people Ur working with. Then that is more productive in my opinion. Say the first pay slip will put a smile on the face too ha

monthly pay slip has yet to arrive takes a bit of getting used to when you've been paid weekly but the sky tv perk certainly not to be squeezed at and the friends and family offers will raise your popularity stakes :)
