Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why would anyone buy naming rights to a highway?

The US state of Virginia is poised to become the first to sell naming rights to its bridges, highways and roads. But given how long drivers can spend in gridlock, is there a risk in putting your firm's name to this public space?
    ....

By 2013, drivers in the US state of Virginia, America's 12th most populous state, could be treated to traffic reports warning of lengthy delays on the Pepsi highway or the Coca-Cola bridge.

OK, so what would be the Irish version; The "Bord na Móna highway" for the M6 near Kinnegad or the Guinness way for the south quays.
Even people could buy the rights to name a road after them.
It's too early in the morning to think of any real crackers! :pac:

Edit: tolled roads could be sponsored by banks! :P

I love highways. Like the old school spaghetti junctions, shopping precints, high-rise flat complexes, It's hard not to be touched by the benevolent , hopeful modernity of the vision, albeit one turned sour now.

I would love to have one called after me

    Can ya just imagine

    Batchelors Beans Bridge
    Brennans Bread Cross

Hope they don't put those two too close together it'd end up being called the beans on toast quarter

    (yeah, sorry... I'll go now)

OConnell Street could be called Wrigleys way, (dirty bastards anyone spitting chewing gum on the street should be made lick that and any other globs surrounding it for 50 metres).

    OK just a rant.
