Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just heard the phrase "Mid Market Fashions" being used in a financial report. Is this a thing now? Is there a definition on it or is it just another fudge-factor phrase used in describing financial growth rates.

I can only assume it to mean sales in mid range shops but where are the boundaries drawn? Is Pennies low market? Is A&F high market? D&G is a very common label to see so does that make it Mid Market?

I hate these stupid nonsense phrases being bandied about. It's just a grey fuzzy shapeless mass of bellybutton lint.

    Penny's et al are discount.
Mid market would be Next, M&S, Gap, River Island etc. as is A&F.
D&G, Marc by Marc Jacobs, DKNY are all bridge lines.
Dolce & Gabanna, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Channel are designer.

Are they terms recognized within the fashion industry or are they purely financial tools? Bridge lines is a new term to me too.

They are industry terms used to describe market positioning. Bridge lines as a descriptor has been around since the 1980s at least, it refers to a designers more affordable (and often more wearable) line.

Bridge lines also known as diffusion.
