Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This sunny weather is makes me crave an ice cream - something like a cornetto would be lovely right now. Or a 99 - nom!

Had some of that new Ben and Jerries core stuff a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing!

But with all new types of ice-cream out there - I wanted to ask the good people of AH what you think the best ice-cream is, and why? :D

Oh man, Fairly Nuts is amazing. Shame it's one of their least stocked flavours - I have real trouble finding it anywhere.

Didn't they have to take them off the market as they were deemed racist by the pc brigade? :pac:

(The old wrappers used to have a gollywog on them).

Endorsed. Although the other way round for me

And as soon as some whizz kid genius invents a spoon for Maxi Twists that don't break immediately on touching ice cream, they'll be in the top 3 too

They changed the packaging in the 90's to take the gollywog off them but they are still sold today as "giant bars" if I remember correctly

Just a slab of vanilla ice-cream on a stick but man is it deliciously refreshing!

Someon mentioned a maxi-twist too, great shout!

Häagen-Daz Vanilla ice cream especially the praline and cream so much better than Fairly Nutty, there I said it.

Good thing I'd only get something like that once in a blue moon if its on sale as its so calorific and small.. and delicious.

HB aint what it used to be, the Dunnes tub of Vanilla aint bad with a bit of meringue, I think its made in Ireland which is always a plus.

    What was it like?

Can't even remember the thing itself I just remember having one and I must've been four or five, one of those childhood memories that stick in mind, but I think it was like one of the mars/snickers icecream bars. Chocolate and nuts. It got a couple of mentions on this thread..

brunch, super split, iceberger or choc ice are my main choices for a day like today :D
for an icecream treat indoors cant beat Neopolitan icecream, dont even know if they sell it anymore tbh, but one of my childhood and teenhood sweet treats was a big slab of that with some blackberries picked from my tree, sooooo yummy! :)

They don't sell them in Ireland anymore :( The caramel ones were to die for! Had one last time I was in the Czech Republic though.

Aldi do this premium ice cream at the moment, it's mint and caramel flavoured.

I've eaten about 6 tubs of it in the last few weeks... :-(
