Regeneration Feature in the Irish Examiner

Pity those figures don't list the number of brand new Regeneration jeeps and 4x4's purchased.

Or morning coffees and pastries consumed at any number of hotels in the city by Regen staff attending those endless "meetings".

Or delve into the 'relative' amount of same family members who have secured well paid jobs in the LRA.

Or ask why demolition companies from Northern Ireland were hired to knock down houses in areas with up to 75% local unemployment (and failing that why Irish companies paying tax here weren't employed to do this work).

    ....you're right OP, depressing stuff.

And when all that money is spent, nothing will be seen to have been done to address the real issues which tore these communities to bits. In fact all they've done is spread the disease far and wide.

Thank goodness for the likes of Tommy Daly, who at least can and will, be able to testify to the waste.

The Irish Examiner have a two day feature on Limerick Regeneration today, it makes for pretty disheartening reading to be honest.

I don't know, it's disheartening if you ever want to see Moyross rebuilt but maybe it's better to place people in different communities and reduce the overall size of Moyross?

Same with students attending school, maybe it's better people end up going to different schools, out in Castletroy or wherever, if that's where they now live?

And one of the head guys (possibly the head guy) of the Limerick Regen is getting a nice plum job within the new Limerick city/county council set up.

Nice to see the standards in the city/county councils will remain as they are.
