2 week suspension for throwing pebbles at the foot of the biggest knacker in the school.

Why? Because he was constantly getting into trouble and close to getting expelled, and instead of blaming him for his latest escapade and thus making the school look crap, after he told them this 'story', they decided that suspending me would make it look like he was being bullied by other students like myself, and that's why he was doing these things.

I've done far worse in school since then and never got anything but the odd detention. Go figure.

Got suspended for half a day for mitching. Also got detention once, again technically for mitching. Detention actually wasn't that bad cos I got all my homework for the weekend done, the only pain was getting up for school on a saturday morning.

Was kicked out of class in primary along with a few others and ended up getting a week of proper teaching from the principal himself in a class of six.

When teachers were in the wrong I stood up to them.

The worst trouble I got into in actuality didn't really have anything to do with me.

I was in class when the cap of my pen on the floor fell off the table. I bent over to pick it up, as you do. After class I was told to stay back after "disrupting the class". It was me and 5 others whose offences included leaning back in a chair to pass a ruler to someone, staring out a window, etc.

We were kicked out of her class. We were then told we had to apologise to her, when we we refused to apologise we were given detention, when we never should up for detention we were pulled up on front of the principal.

When we explained the story to the principal there were "lol"s all around and it was forgotten about. It had gone on for about 2 or 3 weeks before anyone actually cared to listen to our side of the story.

In 4th class I forged my mams name on my homework journal as I couldn't be bothered doing my homework. Teacher spotted it straight away (mispelled her first name ) ) and called my mam into the school. Instead of going to the teacher my mam went to the principle and I got called into the office.

Now - my memory may be sketchy from all those years ago but what I do remeber is being shouted at for what seemed like hours by the principle. She even went as far as saying I could go to prison for fraud and would never get a job because of the conviction. I was $hitting myself. It was so bad my mam still regrets going to the principle that day nearly 30 years on...she was nearly in tears at the bollocking I got - for me there was no nerarly about it.

Good thing is that whenever I get into a sticky situation these days I remember that bollocking and smile at the thought that nothing anyone can say will make me feel worse than I did then

Luckily his "very poor level of education. He comes from a very dysfunctional family background" gave him a reduced sentence . It was only a child anyways, you're right to stand up for this lovely man. You can visit him in jail and ask him how many times he hit the child, and then comfort him and just remind him that it's because of his troubled upbringing. .

A friend and I robbed a lump of potassium from a lab in school one day the security was low, there was a jumble sale or some such going on in the hall. So I was carrying this shîte around in a paper bag in my pocket while we wondered what to do with it. It started reacting with the Oxygen in the air and was melting and getting very hot. So I threw it behind one of the jacks, my accomplice threw a handful of water on it and off it went in a frenzy. We legged it and then watched teachers running around the yard wondering what to do as thick smoke poured out of the jacks window. But it did very little harm. We never got caught for that one tho!

I never got caught for most things I did. I used to mitch a good bit but teachers never suspect you if you act grand most of the time. It's the trouble makers get caught because people are looking out for them to do stuff. I used to get in trouble for not wearing proper uniform and stuff like that.

I teach in the UK now and the kids are crazy in my school. Constantly people beating each other up and throwing chairs at each other and throwing each others bags out the window. They think it's no bother to have a chat across the room in the middle of lessons and a few boys who are out on work experience this week got fired from tesco (work experience!!!!!) I hope Irish schools never end up like some English schools.

Also teachers regularly get told to phuck off and one woman got spat at in the face earlier by a year 9 boy so the equivalent of second year.

Went mitching one day with my mate. Went rallying around in his mam's car aolmost wrapped it into a truck. Back to school shaking like leaves. Turns out the Year Master ( a sound out fella) knew we went on the hop and rang my oul pair. They were away for the day so he only go the voice mail on the answering machine. Got home Bueller style before the oul pair played the answering machine messages, blessed that there were no other messages bar the teacher and I took the tape, replacing it with one of the others lying around. (The tape was one of those little micro jobs)

The next few day the Year Master would (with a smile on his face) keep saying stuff about messages and answering machines in a not so subtle, actually-your-humour-is-****, Sir kinda way. I stayed stum and played the game. Then a few weeks after the heat died down I went into his office for a smoke and a chat with him and produced the tape, Bond style and pushed it across the desk and just smiled and smoked. He knew I'd pulled it off and gotten away with it. In fairness to him he really was a top fella. Man, we had a good laugh about that!

One time a teacher blackened my eye. The oul lad was pissed about that. I think he had words with him about it. I got an apology from him. Most of the digging was A) deserved and mostly harmless.

You wouldn't mind but the bloody black eye was for something totally harmless, not even a school crime in my book! (Slid a chisel across the workbench to the other lad who was looking for it. You were supposed to pass it, which is fair enough but still hardly the crime of the century.)

got beat round the head for cutting a lump of hair off a girl I fancied - she had long blonde hair down to her waist - I cut it about half way up her back. Fair enough punishment I reckon. She gave me a valentines card that year too.

Just reading this thread I realise I was in trouble a lot more than I remembered, though somehow I always managed to escape getting the blame for the worst crimes. Think they all knew it was me really, but I was very unassuming and they could never pin it on me.

My parents were in my primary school about once a week because I outright refused to do homework, ever.

Got caught smoking twice in secondary school, my principal was more than a little bit peeved when she realised my parents were well aware that I smoked and were happily paying my fines.

Spent lunchtime in detention about once a week for refusing to do homework, refusing to do "clean up", refusing to do games, etc.

Got my best friend banned from the computer room and an "official enquiry" launched to find out if she had any "enemies" - I wrote a story about a very innocent but amusing event that had happened at a party, however the convent school didn't see the innocent, or amusing side of it. I knew better than to save it but I printed it, then someone else got a hold of it and photocopies started appearing around the school....She never turned me in though, fair play.

Had to carry a desk out of the study hall, across the yard in front of the entire school, and to the caretakers shed, where I can to scrub it clean having just spent a good forty minutes writing out the entirety of Smashing Pumpkins "Tonight, Tonight, in perfect calligraphy with a permanent marker.

Think the most irritating detention was a week spent cleaning the science labs at lunchtime, because myself and two friends had decided to rip up some paper in tiny pieces and throw it all over the place during Irish class, shouting "It's snooooowng!"

Painted the soles of my shoes with black poster paint, then got my tall friend to pick me up so that we left tracks going up the wall, across the ceiling and down the other wall - never got caught for that though they knew it was someone from my class, got the whole 30 of us detention.

Got into minor trouble on other occasions, such as writing cheeky comments in my copy books in response to comments left by the teachers (the best I recall when I was 7 years old and the teacher had written "Terrible handwriting" and I had responded with "I can do much worse writing".)

Aah, this is taking me back. The good old days.... though in reality I loathed school.

Just remembered this too, more recently in secondary school, I got officially banned from the computer room for "hacking." After getting my first warning for using the 'terminal' gmail skin (Yes. Seriously.) The computer lad in my school (because calling him a teacher would be an insult to the people who are qualified teachers) caught me on an administrator account I got by just unplugging the ethernet cable from the computer, while ssh tunneling to get onto a blocked website for my geography teacher. I got dragged into this little box room cave-esque place he spent most of the day and I had to write an account of what I had done. Got sent to the principals office where he just shouted at me for like 3 minutes and then sent in the vice principal to actually ask what happened, and as soon as she also didn't understand the situation - she too shouted at me and called my parents. I had to sign a thing that said I would never use a computer in school again. Later that day the computer lad called me into his cave and asked me to explain how I did what I did. Told him, and he made me write it down in steps, as if I were to explain it to someone who had never used a computer before. Made me repeat the steps again to show him and he said something to the effect of "listen, I know you're only acting the messer, but this is a serious security breach that I have to fix now, and this could take me until 6pm tonight to finish. The problem with this is that if someone do this they could --- no wait let me show you -- *Types the following (in ie6)** W --- W --- W DOT -- B -- E -- B -- 0 -- backspace backspace -- B -- O -- .COM

hits enter and sees the page is blocked. Explained that it was only unblocking the educational websites which were blacklisted wrongly. He apologised for the grief and i got my account back. I had completely forgotten to setup the socks proxy on that machine :P

Lots of interesting tales of a similar ilk from my school days too, but the most interesting one I think is an incident where everyone else in first year was a suspect except me.

Me and a friend had the job of running the school tuckshop, one afternoon the Tayto truck was late and showed up during lunchtime, we went out to unload it, after we had gotten our order I went to the drivers door to sign the forms, my friend who was supposed to be guarding the stock got distracted by something and eventually found himself standing beside me gawking.

The back of the truck can't have been out of view for more than 90 seconds but in that time the Entire truck was emptied and the contents were distrubited around the school and hidden.

Needless to say we lost our jobs over that one

I was generally fairly grand in school, not a knacker, never disrupted classes etc. I went to one of the worst schools around though, imagine a fúcking mental institute for inbred people. Needless to say, absolutely no education came from there.

I remember once a Chinese friend of ours was showing us the Chinese version of the Ouija board. I was back when I started studying Wicca and some of my friends thought it was kind of cool, so they asked me and her to do a bit of seance. Some other people found out and started telling our Irish teacher that we were summoning demons. She called me and the Chinese one up on it and threatened us with detention (I was doing my best not to laugh). This wasn't even a Catholic school!

I think those were the worst things I got in trouble for. Quite funny really. By fourth year I used to come and go as I pleased at school and would just leave if I had study classes even though we weren't meant to. I even got offered a lift home by a teacher a few times.

- same headmaster, was speaking in an assembly once. And it was like 'person who wins whatever competition gets £25 to spend on school supplies in WHsmith' and I said 'ha ha' pretty loud, and he knew it was me. Got a right bollocking.
- This one time, we had a new drama teacher. And she gave us a camera, and foolishly let us out of the gates to 'take pictures' we just went out, went the chippy, tesco, and broke the camera, we were gone for like 3 hours

In Ireland - I got suspended twice for mitching, sound fella. Got a bollocking off the principal for telling the Irish teacher how crap Irish was and how lucky I was to be English and not learn it.

Nothing bad. Called down to the principals office and shouted at with 3 others for..going around the side of the school where we weren't allowed to get the good snow for snowballs when it was all gone from the yard.

Writing that a boy in my class was a dickhead in huge letters in the yard only got a note in my journal. Found it tough to pluck up the courage to get that note signed though! I don't remember anything serious from anyone else even in secondary..one person suspended for an outburst in class, another for setting off fireworks from the top of the sports hall. That's it aside from all the class detentions.

In first infants I flooded the ground floor, I thought it would be interesting to see what happens when the stoppers were in and all the taps were on. There was also a "dark room" for those of us who were disruptive so my neighbor also got locked in there and proceeded to drink all the nuns lemonade and leave the air of their tyres out. He is doing twenty years for manslaughter now !!

I was accused of stealing mock exam papers as I had written about stuff our teacher hadn't covered, I used to read the book ahead as she was so slow, I got an A1 in honours History in the real exam and I reminded her of her stupid accusations with a satisfied grin on my face.

How are you meant to do something if you don't understand it? If I did make an attempt and it was completely wrong she would have made me stand at the board doing it in front of everyone until the class eventually did it for me.

Was in a car with a few older guys who had been to my school. A teacher walks by and one of the guys lean out and let a roar "(Insert name here) you w*nker!" Of course he saw my big mop of hair in the back and I got slammed for it. Funny thing though another one of the guys is now teaching in the place!
