Looking for a recommendation for a PC game, a strategy game. Preferably a SRPG (something akin to Fire Emblem if it exists) but definitely something turn-based. I've had enough of RTS.

I'm not much a of a PC gamer so don't really know where to start. I have an OK PC - Core i3, 4GB RAM and AMD RADEON HD 6450.

    All recommendations welcomed.

    What's SRPG?

It's not out now but maybe you'll enjoy this.

Not really sure there's anything like it on PC. You could always get the Shining Force games from Steam?

Jagged Alliance 2 is worth trying out from GoG, plays very like Valkyria Chronicles.

Then there's the classic X-com from steam. It might be western but it's the grand daddy that all SRPGs are built on.

Strategy RPG. Tends to mean games with turn-based, often grid-based combat systems. Games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea, Jeanne D'Arc etc...

Ah. Well the OP is going to struggle for anything modern in that regard.

Frozen Synapse is good but it lacks any RPG elements.

There's the Kings Bounty series, cheap and readily available on Steam and the like.

    Or also the Disciples series.

Actually Frozen Synapse would be very close to what the OP is looking for, with or without the surplus of statistics :) A damn fine game too.

Heroes of Might and Magic series? More strategy then rpg, but they are pretty good.

    More there than I thought.

Kings Bounty and Disciples look bang on. Frozen Synapse and Jagged Alliance look interesting too.

    Cheers folks:D

Battle for Wesnoth is worth a shot. I enjoyed it a lot. There is unit building in it, but your units also carry over between battles with stats intact. The main campaign got bloody hard for me even on normal difficulty!

Beware Disciples 3 as it's a bit rubbish. Stick to Disciples 2.

So is there any RPG elements in an SRPG? Because neither Frozen Synapse nor Kings Bounty are RPGs in any meaningful sense

Depends on what game it is. Something like FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre are very heavily geared towards character cutomisation while something like Valkyria chronicles or shining force are quite light on rpg elements.
