Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone tried it? Is it worth giving a go? Can't find a decent foundation since they took the one I used off the market a few months back. Or any other suggestions for a decent foundation for combination skin? Preferably under €20.

Why, are even the lightest ivory shades quite dark?

It's not great to be honest. I tried it a few days ago and not a fan. I don't know what colour you use but I have put this link in if you are willing to spend €20.00 you can get MAC foundations by searching around:)

I've tried a sample of bourjois healthy mix and it's the next one I intend buying. It's quite light weight but gives medium coverage. To me, based on reviews I've seen of this and the rimmel one, they'd be similar enough except the Bourjois doesn't have shimmer particles. Best bet might be to head into a pharmacy and try a few samples on your jawline to see which one matches the best and gives the best finish. You'd easily find one under 20 in a pharmacy.

healthy mix is very different to wake me up.
I like wake me up, the only problem is shimmer, its got a thick consistency a bit like a BB cream but nice medium coverage. I have dry skin and it sits well on it.
health mix is good, its too drying for the winter though for me , it's much thinner but the coverage is around the same.
if you have oily skin I'd go for healthy mix, if you have dryer skin Id go for wake me up.

I'm actually wearing a mixture of the two now

I hope it's ok to link, I did a recent round up of pale foundations here with swatches including Wake Me Up which I found nice but still a little too dark for my skin. http://smokeyeyesmua.wordpress.com/2012/03/18/foundations-round-up-a-whiter-shade-of-pale/

I would honestly recommend Skin79 BB Creams to everyone I know but also fab contenders are Revlon Colourstay which really looks gorgeous and does a decent pale shade and can be bought for dry or combo skin, or the new Lancome foundations, I have teint miracle and it's love and teint hydra 24 hour is also meant to be fab!

Bought the wake my up in Ivory today, will see tomorrow how that turns out..that skin79 BB cream sounds great, and a low price aswel, where online can you buy it? And does anybody know around how much the lancome is? I used to use no7 mousse for years, suited my skin perfect but they took it off the market for a few months, and now they have brought it back but is a completely different consistency, dries my skin out too much!

Lancome is around €35, Skin79 is around €12 delivered on EBay, best going to the Lancome counter makeup free to get it applied to see how it looks on you and fares throughout the day!

I actually quite liked it! I'm pale enough and found the lightest shade to be decent on my skin, there's a little bit of shimmer in it but you wont end up looking like a vampire from Twilight. If you can find it for the reduced price of just under 6 quid then you should give it a go.

  • I love this foundation. One of the best I've ever tried. It gives a nice natural looking glow and when I wear it, people tell me I look really well. It doesn't give a 'caked in make-up' look at all. I have olive skin, though - might be a bit too orange on someone pale.

I really wanted to like this foundation :( I have typical Irish skin and it was a bit dark for me but thought it would suit maybe on a night out when I was wearing tan alas! no! all the pics look like I'm wearing an orange mask, also was a bit dewy looking for me but then again I like a matt foundation...the healthy mix as mentioned is meant to be great
