American Aparell on Grafton st. Dublin have a white ankle length see through skirt in their window, you can see a lace/crochet knickers on the mannequin

I just can't figure it out? who would wear such a thing? It makes no sense to this man.

The more absurd, impractical, expensive and unique any clothing item is, the more demand there will be for it.

Google 'see though skirt' and you'll see that it's not an uncommon thing. There are plenty of ladies who have worn them. On it's own, yes that'd be pretty strange but most women I'd guess would team it up with something else so nothing shows that shouldn't.

Wouldn't agree with the crochet knickers underneath, but with sturdy boy-shorts type things those skirts can look amazing. Thought they were awful on the mannequin but my friend wore one recently and it was amazing - not trampy at all! :P

I thought those skirts had a mini-slip underneath them, no? Maybe I mistook the knickers for a slip!

I wouldn't wear it unless I had some kind of slip underneath, I just can't imagine it would look in any way decent otherwise...

It's definitely not sexy see-through, like a lace or tulle material on a top might be.

It's like very thin cotton/linen, I guess if worn with a slip it'd be fine, just thought it didn't make sense to be in a window.

American apparel are known for making weird things like that, it's not really a big surprise coming from them tbh. Although I can't imagine many people here would actually wear them.

I'd wear it (though not in white) but with a shorter tube skirt underneath, they make for a nice layering piece
