    Just a heads up that possibly the definitive cookery bible - Larousse Gastronomique is currently on offer on LivingSocial (Amazon reviews). Also available is Larousse Wine, apparently excellent also (Amazon reviews). Gastronomique is €29, Wine is €23, or both for €48. Delivery included. Seems to be selling fast - 73 copies left from 250 yesterday.

    I'm not sure if the sale is still on but I got the new concise version in Chapters the other week for a tenner I think.

    Got both myself. TBH I'm looking forward to the Wine book more. There's a lot of it on preview on Amazon and it looks great.
