Directorship - How to check if still one ?

    Hi,

When a general meeting is held by a company to remove a director (who is not present at the meeting) how then does that removed director normally become aware of his removal. Is the company obliged to inform him of such in writing.

Can a Directors status be readily checked anywhere ?

    Thanks,

    John

It can be checked on www.cro.ie

But, the company needs to file a B10 form to notify a change of directors.

As above. If you don't see a B10 listed in the submissions, then they haven't filed it yet. Might mean that a) they didn't change, or b) it's still being processed.

They also need to notify the director of the motion and meeting where it is intended to remove him. Failure to do this gives rise to a contravention of the Companies Acts and the Director may have redress against the company as a result.
