Got my conferring letter in the post and was momentarily happy. Then I opened it and saw the information about those filthy rip off merchants charging 45 quid for a two hour robes rental. They literally disgust me.

Make your own. Black bags be grand ;)

I'm a second year, and I was at the poster sale. I couldn't pass up a "I am the one who knocks" poster to put on my door. :o

Saw that and was considering buying it. Been listening to this on repeat te last while. If you've seen the finale you'll recognise it.

Anyone know if the Philosophy Society is gone? Went to their desk and was no one there but the LGBT, nearly joined by accident LOL.
And joined the Socialist Youth for reasons I am not entirely sure of...just heard it was free

Don't think I ever heard of there being a philosophy soc? Welcome to the lefty portion of Maynooth; we're great craic altogether.

There was a Philosophy soc when I was in first year. I remember meeting them once and leaving swiftly once I realised it was all the most annoying people from the Philosophy class who were convinced they knew everything, the type who claim they're open to discussion and argument but really just want to rant for a while.

(must be the rain putting me in a bad mood)

Now I don't want to cause another big debate like last time but what's the story with parking in either the GAA club or Manor Mills? Do you need a permit, is there a time limit and are they clamping in either?

Manor mills isn't an overflow park anymore, so will have to pay, if its pay parking.

The GAA probably will let you away with no permit.

Is it pay parking in Manor Mills now? This is just for my boyfriend who will be coming up to Maynooth every so often so obviously won't have a permit.

He's here now! We're just trying to work out where he can leave his car until he can move it onto campus later.

You'll be grand with the GAA club or somewhere in moyglare

He'll need to move it again before 8am tomorrow off campus

On a side note if he's coming up that regularly why don't you get him a permit using your student id ?

They say you need to show your insurance cert to prove you actually drive the car the first time you apply but they just sent mine out to me without me having to do that so you might get away with it

He's prob going to be leaving around then anyway.

We thought about doing that but this is probably going to be one ofae few times that he'll be driving up, particularly during college hours. He's starting a full time job from next week and will be commuting to that and so will be using public transport to get up here then.

Ohh THAT type from the lectures. No great loss then considering there are some people in my class who's thoughts and ideals genuinely disgust me...like who wears a red tie with a pale blue sweater vest.

Manor mills isn't pay parking AFAIK? But they do shut down at night so I don't think overnight parking is allowed, and it is technically a customer car park. I don't know if/how they enforce that

Think you need a permit for the GAA club and Manor Mills clamp after 2 hours or something I think.

Cheers. Working perfectly for me too!

Also, the boyfriend wasn't clamped at the GAA pitch! Cheers all for the help :-)

Damn all you upstarts and your fancy eduroam access!!!

    *shakes fist violently*

eduroam just keeps glitching out on me. NUIMWireless is working OK, but only if I open up Mozilla beforehand, otherwise it won't allow me to use Chrome.

So if you don't need a polling card to vote today does that mean in theory I could vote more than once?

Possibly driving round the country to diffrent polling stations just using an ID (or diffrent ID's ) casting multiple votes ?

Not that I'm going to however the local primary school is enough of a treck for me :pac:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,042 ✭✭✭zl1whqvjs75cdy

Nah your name is on a list at your polling station. If you show up at another polling station your name won't be on the list and they won't let you vote.

    Damm

But what if I happened to get an ID off someone who looked like me that was on a list at another polling station could I vote then ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,042 ✭✭✭zl1whqvjs75cdy

I'd imagine so but it'd would want to be a fairly close likeness. But if you could get their ID you could get their polling card anyway?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,674 ✭✭✭aaabbbb

    Suppose...

LETS GET ALLL THE POLLING CARDS AND RULE THE WORLD !!!!

Maybe that will stave off bullshit grant cuts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,674 ✭✭✭aaabbbb

    Nevermind....

In other news I think I may have mixed up the voting cards and voted wrong accidently **** !

Whoever decided it was a great idea to have two referenda at the same time and not write which card was for which is a little devious bollx

Also I rather disliked having only a pencil as an option to use to cast my vote....

It was a bit sneaky. I had to double check before I went in which was which.

EDIT: Also, when did they stop providing pens for ballots anyway?
