Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm lucky to live 5 minutes from two different but equally awesome places for breakfast rolls. One has the heaviest sausages you'll find anywhere and have the works for a roll; sausages, rashers, 3 puddings, eggs, hash browns, wedges, onions, mushroom, tomatoes. The other place has smaller and less greasy ones, bit more "deli"-like stuff, bit more savoury, but still delicious.

I miss the summer that I was getting 3 or 4 a week to be honest. :pac:

chef sauce is a faggót excuse for brown sauce, people who eat chef can't handle real brown sauce.

Chef sauce and a full duck in a bread roll... that's the best.

They are disgusting. About 3 times RDA of salt and fat. Invariably the fillings are the cheapest available and are dried out having been cooked several hours before.

The quality of product put in the breakfast roll has diminished massively. Even the ketchup tastes crap in most places.

All the tradesmen who ate them have gone to Oz.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,573 ✭✭✭pragmatic1

Nothing. You can get them anywhere. Where the **** do you live.

Home made is undoubtedly the best. I only indulge about once a month though! I know a builder who eats a savage diet. At least one breakfast roll a day and he's still just skin and bones. Damn genetics!

Could never eat breakfast rolls, give me the worst heartburn ever!! Chicken Tikka and cheese baguettes are better anyway.

I hear they are offering visas in Canada and Oz to anyone who is qualified in making breakfast rolls.

And what the hell is a Jambon?

    There's a Statoil in Galway?

Is it not a Topaz? Or is Galway really that fair behind the rest of the country ;)

That's what I thought. You talking about the Topaz on the roundabout mikemac1? Indeed a fine roll or sandwich to be had in there.

The Dutch eat something similar to a Jambon as a snack or for breakfast/light lunch. They also have delicious cheese breads - Old Amsterdam is the best - plus it's great for the coffee shop-induced munchies:cool::pac:.

I love a fried breakfast like any other guy but I never saw the appeal of breakfast rolls. Anyhow, thier popularity must have plummeted along with the property crash.

I miss when they used to use those giant puddings and include poached eggs and everything in it! Now you pay like €4 for some sausages, a leathery rasher and maybe an egg. Its useless! They dont even use decent red sauce on them anymore, only this sweet chef diseased stuff! CHEF ketchup in a breakfast roll is WRONG!!!

Jambons are also diseased little freaks.

A breakfast bap is where its at.How do you get a fried egg in a roll properly? The egg also has to be as runny as possible otherwise its blasphemy.

I've always hated breakfast rolls unless I told the breakfast roller exactly what has to go in it or in what way. Tomato sauce is puke. As are eggs, and tomatoes, and chewy rasher fat is evil.

The coffee shop in SuperValu in Rosslare Harbour is awesome, you can't eat it like a roll though. Rashers, Sausages, Hash Browns, Fried Eggs and.....wait for it......a load of beans!!!! Savage altogether

Jambons are foul. Poor quality soggy grease soaked pastry topped with low grade cheese, 'meat' and sauce. Best beakfast rolls can be found in cafe madeline in drumcondra, eggs fried fresh to order, lovely fluffy bread rolls.

Centra, not more than a minutes walk from my place do absolutely delicious breakfast rolls..
2,sausages,2 rashers, 1 white,1 black pud, hash brown, egg, beans, mushrooms and onions.
I usually hold on the egg and beans.
All for 4 euro. The thing would be overflowing, its huge and ya dont need to eat for the day then.
There's another petrol station in my town does them but they are rotten and they charge you per item...5.25 i once paid for a breakfast roll.
