I don't know why you are all worrying about this.

Sure it isn't important till after the referendum.

Disgusting the way the media in this country are bought and directed by their political masters.

The media are directed by their corporate and millionaire owners. If Tony O'Reilly, Desmond O'Brien, The Government (RTE) have a vested interested in something - that's what you get.

The "free press" is largely an illusion propagated by the "free press"!

The MSM in Ireland is no more "free" than that in Russia or China.

    Just different masters.

Now that we've sold our soul and Big phil is back out of his cage, shall we continue with this debate?

I expect it'll just get added into the tax that replaces it next year.
Still no decision on how the tax will be calculated!

For all the muppets who supported this tax being introduced, and compared it to rates in the six counties.

Have a read at this. :

Didn't pay and won't pay a tax on MY own home. It's unjust and unfair as Enda said himself.

The new laws that are going to be brought in where money owed to the state can be taken from social welfare and other tax returns will make the non payers pay and with extra fees.

The people who paid in time will be the people who will have ended up paying less.

People who owe the money and if they died they will be leaving a debt for a loved one, one will have to pay the charge if they want to sell the house.

The state will make sure the household charge evaders will pay and will pay more than the people who were clever enough to pay on time.

These laws will never be brought in. God bless the yes vote yesterday. We've a thing called The European Court of Justice that will protect us from our own governement. :P You're probably one of these people that believes it's part of the ECB deal or that the Troika told us to bring in these laws don't ya

Here's a lesson in math. When you pay on time, you pay more than a person who isn't paying. :P

Peoples "loved" ones usually have the same stance and will continue to defy this charge. :p and FYI my house is literally worth sweet f*ckall.

I know that  but they don't tell us what to do to get it...At least I don't think they do, well how would I know. I don't be sitting at the table with the Troika while Enda's sitting quietly on the floor with a bowl of water next to him. They could be dropping subtle hints but I doubt it and even if they did, there's nothing to say that Enda has to do what they say but he probably does..."There's a good boy Enda, wanna go walkies?" :pac:

I firmly believe if enough people dont pay the household tax,we will win this one(people paid for their homes,is the council going to mow your lawn fix YOUR household fence or paint YOUR wall),dont fool yourself or believe what the govt tell you..this is a stealth tax to pay off irresponsible politicians and wealthy bankers that decided to BANKRUPT US instead of paying off the debt.

Our first mistake was the lisbon treaty, our second mistake was letting the banks have their way in 2008,our third mistake was the yes vote, but if WE IN NUMBERS PROTEST BY SIMPLY NOT PAYING THERE WILL BE NOT A LOT THEY CAN DO,STAND TOUGH DONT PAY!WE NEED THE NUMBERS..

A property tax is specificed under the troika deal.
I know that  but they don't tell us what to do to get it...At least I don't think they do, well how would I know.
You could read the MOU. If you did, you would know that they do specify the various taxes and charges (including a property tax) that we have to implement.

The Troika can take a run and jump.
I'm not paying a Home Tax.

The troika should stick to what they do best: troiking, whatever that may be.
