Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How many damn times are they going to play it?

I was going to wonder how much it costs, but since i'm listening to Classic FM which is owned by RTE, it is free.

They've heard all the excuses and none of them work.

There are many ways to pay your license.

Posting on boards.ie, is not one of them.

The best thing about this country is the satisfaction you get from not paying it.

Do they still make the claim that everyone will look at you and shake their heads at you if you don't pay it?

I haven't heard it on the radio, seen it on TV (don't have a TV) or come across adverts online because I never use RTE or access any of its content.

Their new line is "We heard all the excuses and none of them work". You can't hear an excuse if no one answers the door :)

Could you live with the shame?

I live in an apartment complex, the front door is for everyone in the place so they shaggers can go shag themselves. It is impossible to see through my window.

(Well that plus the fact I don't have TV (ie RTE 1, 2 , TV3) , I only have my PC and TV which I don't have to pay for.)

My neighbours said that to me.

They were in watching tele when the inspector knocked, he looked in the wondow, and they stayed watching. He cannot do anything if you ignore him

If they see a telly in your gaff can they not check whether you've paid and send a court summons?

Who would they address it to?

I hadn't paid my licence one year, forgot it to be truthful. Eventually the Inspector called. She was a pleasant, slightly nervous lady. So I wasn't going to be rude to her. Good tactic that, send a nice person.

Anyway, mindful of the ad. I made no excuses. Told her I thought we had a licence but obviously her presence meant I didn't.

I went and bought one a couple of days later. Come to think of it's probably expired again!

All they can do is leave a leaflet saying they observed a TV

Dossing on the job then :D

There are some really bad ads on TV, but I love the chocolate McVities ad - 'you're so seedy'. :D Gets me every time. :D
