    Nope - want a Capri. ;)

I've checked all the usual sites, like that 3LS (post 142). Are you in a club yourself? Know of any enthusiasts selling theirs?

I've posted it before but I'll post it again....

At least there won't be that fear it'll get dinged in the supermarket car park.
No need to read up on miles of thread on car detailing, you never will have to worry what clay bar is, just hose it down inside and out and you're done!
Yep, seems a viable every day runaround to me!:D

Not in any clubs. I bought mine on ebay and drove it home from Yorkshire. Given 99% of the cars are from the UK anyway I would be inclined to look in that direction. Most of the cars for sale in ireland are tarted up rust buckets.

The woman is from Mayo and we're going down there for the weekend and have just arranged to see that beige one Saturday.................

EDIT: If your buddy is in a club will you ask him if he knows of anything decent for sale?

Was it tasty in real life?
Nothing back from Capri Man yet but he's at the Galway races afaik.

The 3 or 4 the buddy had he bought over there too. Still, lots of folk parting with their prized possessions these days.

Was fairly solid, bit of surface rust here and there and one bad patch just under the windscreen on the passenger side that would need attention. I think there's a drop link gone as the steering is a bit wavy (sp?) and it was pulling to the right when braking too. Colour is better looking in the flesh but still not my cuppa cha. The 2L is lively enough but fcuked if I would but a 1.6. All in all a decent enough car for the money but I won't be buying it.

Thought you wouldn't, the arches looked rough enough in the add. No doubt a suitable one will turn up.

Calipers can be a pain for seizing and probably is why it is pulling.

Anyone down the Limerick area fancy having a look at this for me? He's located on the Ballysimon road. LM? TT? Anybody? There's €50 in it for you!

Will indeed, he's no doubt in some one or other as he goes to shows etc etc for the guts of ten years with his Brooklands.

    Nothing :o

However on a positive note you're spot on with your budget, he mentioned that a very very good 1976 3.0 Capri took quite a while to sell a couple of months back and it eventually went for €2400 so he reckons for your budget you should do quite well.

He did mention the UK as the best place to get one as Maidhc said.

I reckon I know just the car he was talking about. A burgundy 3LS auto with superlites. It went to a Polish lad in Meath. Just what I was looking for. :(

Thanks man - I wasn't looking for an in depth inspection anyhow. They're pretty much a bullet proof car either way, once it's structuralry sound and no big rusty holes in the body I would be happy.

Yeah, I can do it so.I live pretty close to there. LM could be possibly better suited to it but sure he'd take the money off ya! Drop a few quid into the ATWR kitty for the lads and I'd be happy.

    Cheers man - appreciate it!

Not so sure if I want that particular one now though. I'm just not feeling the love with it. I'll have to think more about it!

Don't know if it's been mentioned (and I'm on my phone so thread searching is a pain) but have you considered a Datsun S30?
They're rare enough but IMO they at least look much nicer than the Capris.

Food for thought if nothing else. :)

    Search for 240z, 260z, 280z and 280zx.
S30 is just the chassis code. :)
