    Hi Guys,

I'm negotiating our card rates (Visa & Mastercard: Credit & Debit and Laser) with our merchant bank which is proving quite tricky!

    The formula seems to be:

Interchange ( What the Card Issuers charge ) + Scheme Fees ( What the Card Schemes charge ) + Merchant Bank Margin ( What Merchant Bank Get )

As they are telling me the last 2 rates, I just need to find out the Interchange ones to find out if the rates they are giving me are realistic/accurate.

I'm having difficulty in establishing the correct interchange rates. I emailed Mastercard and Visa but they said to talk to my bank!

Some of the rates are available. The domestic and Inter (EU) rates for Visa are here:
    http://www.visaeurope.com/en/about_us/our_business/fees_and_interchange.aspx

And the same for Mastercard are here: http://www.mastercard.com/us/company/en/whatwedo/interchange/Intra-EEA.html

Now the problem is there are no Inter (rest of world) rates for Visa or Mastercard as far as I can see. Visa has rates for non EEA, but these sound like they are still for Europe.

Similarly I can't get worldwide rates for Mastercard.

If anyone could point me towards where I could find these I'd really appreciated it!

    Thanks
