Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How do you troll a whole Internet?

Then again, if you use "troll" in the fishing sense - dragging the bottom, not too fussy about what you find - well, I'm here on AH, aren't I? :o

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.

I've never understood the appeal of trolling tbh, though there are one or two animals on here who's posts I enjoy.

Yesterday, when I used an alternate log-in to pretend I'd had sex.

(Not sure if this post itself counts as trolling: if so, then the answer is now.)

Pighead's been clean for almost seven years now. Trolled for almost two hours solid that evening. It had everything a proper troll thread should contain.

Ridiculous bile filled nonsense which demanded a reaction from the masses. OP giving the impression he was about seven years old. Firing out awful insults which showed very little signs of intelligence and finally a nice bit of implied violence to wrap things up.

As an aside, Pighead doesn't think that thread would have lasted six pages nowadays.

i've never done it and most of the time it's amusing if it's light hearted and banterish

i cant stand the personal lashings trolls give people though about serious issues..i was on a forum once and a troll came on and told a woman she deserved that her baby died:eek: stuff like that gives me ire

keep it light and everyone can enjoy the troll..i love the funky coloured hair as well

I occasionally go to a forum where the paranormal is discussed and offer useless advice - covering a house in odlums self-raising flour to catch an invisible man, for example, when someone suspects a ghost in their house. For some reason an invisible man is impossible but a ghost is perfectly normal.

I only ever do it when drunk and bored because one of the mods there is pretty cool and my girlfriend doesn't like me doing it. I started to feel guilty myself once when I started to tell a girl who was interested in the healing power of pyramids about the power of cuboids. You can make up some awful shíte and it fits right in there.

Other than that, I don't really bother. I write lots of shíte in here but that's what AH is for.

If a man and a woman are arguing in the woods and there is no one around to hear, is the woman still right?

I haven't done any serious trolling for several months, since a one-month ban from Boards.ie for trolling the Christianity forum ended. There are endless opportunities, especially if you can use a proxy server.:)

Trolling is a lot older than the Internet. One of my favourite pastimes was sending in letters to Angela MacNamara, a legendary Irish agony aunt and defender of staunch Catholic values, asking her things like: "Does taking the contraceptive pill in the morning break your fast before Holy Communion?" The pity was most ended up in the wastepaper basket, and only the really crafty double entendre ones made it into print.:D

Couple of days ago on Facebook. There's some very gullible idiots out there.

I spent 2 days on facebook trolling NAACP but after hundreds of angry responses to my comments they blocked me and deleted my posts.

When I started I got some genuine responses (I queried the effectiveness of an organisation that exists to fight discrimination despite the fact that that organisation by it's very existence discriminates) but as it went on I got less and less eloquent in my wording until they cut me off (I never cursed or used a derogatory term).

That was last year, and unfortunately I didn't save any screenshots of it.

It has taught me one thing though: People need to chill the fuck out.
