Are those cheaper models good quality PSU's? Say the 30 quid 450W model, how would that fare against say This?

Ah crap, I just bought some PSUs yesterday.

The HGCs are made by seasonic and are good quality. €40 is excellent for a 520W PSU like that.

The Basiqs are Delta which aren't amazing or anything but still solid enough for the low cost/low needs system. They're also very well priced.

You should have this on the bargain alerts thread hellboy.

    It's made by FSP,
    "FSP manufacture their own PSUs.

Been around for a long time, most PSU's they manufacture are average to slightly above average units."

The one OP bought is a Seasonic.

Indeed, just looking at the 450W on the review database and it's FSP.

The amazon 450W would be a little bit better but it's still over 40% dearer!

If you were looking at the amazon, you could get the HGC 520 and you'd have a better PSU and still for cheaper.

Would the 450W FSP PSU linked be sufficient to power these specs solidly?

    CPU - i5 2500k hopefully overclocked to 4.2-4.4GHz
    GPU - Sapphire Radeon 6850
    RAM - G.Skill 8GB 1333MHz
    HDD - Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200rpm

Like music to my ears, thanks.

    For 10 euro's more this is a much better psu ANTEC HCG-520 ATX PSU - 520W @ €39.99

Was hoping to reduce the price of the build I'm considering without reducing too much in performance so that's why I'd rather the one for 30 quid. But as it's only a 10 euro difference I might just go for the higher quality model.

    Thanks again.
