Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sadly I'll be working until 9 in Waterford on Sunday week and will have to work the following day as well. I probably won't even watch the event live at home, which is becoming more common.

Ah no way! Well we're having a Rumble party on the 25th Jan so you've two months notice to put in for leave then. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Tables are booked up in Woolshed now, but I've the boards one booked off for you lads. And if anyone else is coming with friends, there are always tables kept unreserved for early birds too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

Sadly the way my work is going to be between now and February is that I will have to work 430p.m Friday - 9:30a.m Monday or else start work at 4:30p.m on Monday, in Waterford......

Shame some of you are missing out lads, we've got a packed one lined-up but there's always the Rumble and Mania.

Anyway here's a sneak peak of the Bingo Cards which will be available to play again on Sunday with WWE merch prizes and Woolshed dollars for the winners! We also revealed some tips ahead of the table quiz on the just released episode of our 'Low Blows' podcast.

I must say, that looks like a lot of fun. Seems like you are onto a good thing with these parties. So are there different names on the first eliminated/sole survivor cards on each individual bingo card? Could be a slow night for title changes with only 2 being on the line as well!

Yeah that's a sample we're still finishing them off. The cards are a game of chance, pure luck of the draw. But stuff we do like that and the prediction league makes the show interesting for everyone involved so it's good craic, win or lose.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,448 ✭✭✭Garseys

Damn, I gotta make sure I'm booked off for the Rumble party.

We'll be doing a SILENT AUCTION to give away this framed WrestleMania XXX poster on Sunday night, courtesy of WWE themselves who generously donated it as all proceeds will be given to the Santa Strike Force. A very worthy cause, guys, so be generous with your bids if you're interested in taking it home!

We got a sneak peak of Monday's newspaper guys...and guess what they had a feature about Survivor Series! (Also containing an interview with some of you who attended, look just go with it...)

Does it ever get messy at any of these parties, like does anyone get as mangled as that thing says? That is the one thing that always makes me prefer to watch wrestling by myself mainly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

People'd be drunk if that's what you mean, but it's a very positive atmos. It's like the post-Mania RAW crowd at every event. If there's enjoyment or a pop to be had, it'll be had! Everybody's over!

No, that's a joke. People drink, yeah, but it's just a wrestling crowd having a laugh more than anything. Plenty of people who don't drink head along too and I've never heard of them not enjoying their night. It's not really about getting messy, just having a laugh with a good buzz about the place.

I booked a boards.ie table that's intended for all regulars here to share. Don't know if the lads that are going from here are planning on using that or going with their own mates, but feel free to use it anyway, I'm sure the boardsies would be happy to have you. :)

I know TBC is going but I'm not sure if he will be sitting with us or not. But yeah, I'll be at the boardsie table (like SummerSlam) also, Leggo, I hope you play "Like a Prayer" this time, I know you were annoyed at missing Grado's theme last time ;) I guarantee you'll have half the bar singing along!

Having a great time. Our team (The nature boys) finished tied 5th so we went to a promo tie-break. I got booed during my heel promos yet still lost. Bizarre but oh well! :p

Fair play to Grames_Bond who was my opponent in the promo battle. You may have been ripping off The Rock and Orton in your promos but you delivered it well :P

The only thing I want to know is, How did the shot go down?:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Harshly. I was sick as a dog the entire weekend and hadn't been able to eat because I couldn't keep anything down. Did a downing contest right before the shot. Somehow didn't get sick at the end of it though, so that's a win. :pac:

    According to the observer;

As things stand now, the current working plan is for Reigns to win the Royal Rumble match and go on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31 as scheduled.

We're looking for suggestions for the pre-show classic matches showcase, so if anyone here wants to include their top 5 Rumble matches of all-time (can be Royal Rumble matches or regular ones) I'll make sure they're included in the final tally!

    HBK vs HHH 2004

A lot of people picking the 2000 Rumble, am I not remembering this right? The one Big Show and Rock drew in (well The Rock officially won but it got messy after that)?

I remember it as a pretty weak Rumble match, with the constant run-ins from Kaientai and the Posse being the only real notable thing. It's a great PPV as a whole though so I may watch it all back over the next couple weeks to see what I'm clearly forgetting here.

2001 was by far the best one for me off the top of my head. '08 and the 40-man in 2012 too.
