Yep, just bring what you have and we'll tick you off the list we have as you arrive! Long as your name, reference no etc is there you're set. :)

You know, judging from previous PPV shows I've come to since the Mania one you started, you would probably get away with charging like €10 for the Captains Live section and put it as VIP, only problem I see with this is any competition or game you do to give out prizes is from the stage your setup on, not to mention the DJing but if you went down that route, my self and my mates are more than happy to pay €10 to have the big screen to watch it on, not that there is anything wrong with watching it on the other screens

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Hmm, thanks for the suggestion, it's something to think about.

To be honest, I wouldn't really look for more money out of it. I love doing these, personally, even if the party only breaks even and I personally don't earn a penny from it (as was the case with Survivor Series; and even with bigger nights like this, I usually end up just putting the money earned after expenses back into future parties). I'd prefer to keep it good value and good quality. If I was to up the price, I'd only do so if we were offering something extra to people of major value (and if people were still able to opt for the €5 option, as you suggested).

We've got big plans to evolve the parties, though. Watch this space! :)

Paypal is so easy to set up it has to be the best option.

All you need is a bank account and if you don't have a bank account please PM me so I can call round your house, pretend I need to use your loo and sneak off to take the money from under the mattress.

That could be tricky to organise, what with people turning up early, and moving chairs etc - could end up being more effort for the lads and I am sure they put so much effort into these already - don't want to give them extra work!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Yeah, like I don't mind adding extra work personally as we've a strong team setup at this stage, but I hear that and I think: extra security would be needed to check people in and out as they went to the bar/bathroom, and it could become a bit like Oxegen etc with people stopping you at checkpoints every 10 steps. Whereas I like the free-form, relaxed atmosphere there is now and think €5 is solid value wherever you're sitting in the venue (especially when it's packed, as it will be Sunday).

Currently I think it's like a big get together with mates, except you've got a full bar of food, a restaurant, DJ to play music and get some atmosphere going, plus TV everyone likes (because they've all picked it) on in the background before the show. Then the additional stuff like giveaways etc to make it that bit special. And that's exactly what I want it to be.

But it is a valid point that the Live area is the place to be. For now, first-come, first-served is the fairest way, but it's something I'll look to sort out one way or another (I already have one vague idea). These parties are still in their relative infancy, so we kinda have to learn as we go the best way and are completely open to feedback and suggestions as to how we can do so.

What exactly is the Live Area? Is it just an area right in front of the main screen - anything else nice about it? How early do people have to arrive to get there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,434 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

    Are there drinks promos?

Pretty much. The music is also in there so, while you can hear it in the main restaurant, you get the lion's share of the pre-show atmosphere in there. But, like I said, if you're not there you can still hear the music/banter and the classic matches will be on all screens anyway. If you're there for 9pm you should get a spot there: it seats 120.

Whatever Captain's usual drinks promos are (they change from time-to-time; usually stuff like 3 Heinekens for €10 and they do deals on jugs/cocktails etc. Tbh I don't have what the current one's are to hand but just ask at the bar and they'll let you know).

Any chance you could keep me a ticket?, ill have to pay at the door, dont want to miss out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

We've only got 60-odd tickets left unfortunately so we have to do it on a first-come, first-served basis (there have been loads who've asked us to keep tickets; it's just not possible since, if something were to happen and a person would have to miss the night last minute, we'd have to turn another one away who was there). Sorry I can't be of more help :(.

If you're there for 9pm though there shouldn't be a problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,143 ✭✭✭ciano316

Leggo do I have to print off the ticket or can I just show the email on my phone??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Email will be fine, we'll tick everyone off our list as they collect their wristbands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,143 ✭✭✭ciano316

Tickets still available man?? Need 2 more.

Just realised I've an issue with my tickets. I ordered two pairs separately and received two e-mails but I just seen now that they have the same reference number. So on 24th January I ordered two and got the confirmation e-mail. Then on 26th January I ordered two more and got another confirmation e-mail. But they have the same reference number. Is this a mistake? I should have four tickets altogether. I was planning to just show the two e-mails on my phone but now I see they are the same. Thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

Nut - show them ur PayPal transactions? they'd have different IDs. Hopefully leggo will get back to ya soon enough.

I'm in a similar situation, I assume they'll have added them together that's why the ref number is the same, you should be grand. Although 1, possibly 2 have bailed on me so my 2nd trip may have been for nothing...

Agreed the crowd really made the most of some desperate results. Anyone who's anyone got a pop. Jericho was mad over. Even footage of Cena got the crowd split in 2! Shocked at the amount of Pro-Cena/Rock in attendance actually. Really lovely to hear Sheamo get such a massive ovation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,143 ✭✭✭D-FENS

Definitely make a habit of going to these as had a great first time.
Great crowd (Fair play to the guy impersonating Roadogg etc.), beer jugs were dirt cheap and really enjoyed the archive matches especially Austin's 3rd RR win and the theme songs (I requested Christian/At Last but it was late on, maybe next time:))
Look forward to the photo's, will they appear on the WWE partys FB page?
Cheers to all involved in arranging!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Cheers lads. Thanks for coming and making the night such great craic: as I said on the Facebook, we run the nights, but it's what you guys do with it that makes them special. Pics should be up shortly, our photographer is usually great at turning them over quickly. Will post here when they're up. Hope to see you all again for Mania!

Decided last night when watching the Rumble with some friends that we're definitely gonna attend the Mania one, can't wait for it :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 176 ✭✭Shadooby

Good craic as usual, Domhnall was awesome again, Jesus Leggo, bar him from doing anything will ya or no one will get a chance to win some t-shirts lol.
Ah yeah, cant wait for Mania, already requested the next day off work to recover from the night. Loved the random chants hahaha "Paid a fiver" was great!

Once again, Thanks for setting all these up Leggo and to those that help you during the events with getting Merch and what not, we all appreciate it!

Pics are online! My personal favourite is of the reaction to Jericho's entrance:

Congrats on another great night Leggo - wish I could somehow keep the audio from the live crowd and watch Rumble repeats with that on instead. Y2J's entrance and everyone going mental was my favourite part of the night. Just roaring for 3 minutes straight was awesome. Definitely squeezing every possible ounce of enjoyment out of show.

Voice recovered and can't wait for Mania!

Looks like it was a brilliant party, I saw the video on Facebook of yer man ripping off the hulk t-shirt when the Rock one. Was hilarious! Definitely going to try and get to the 'mania party!

Just got a couple of tickets for this for myself and my brother. Neither of us have been to any of the previous parties. Really looking forward to it even though we won't know anybody else there. Have no doubt it will be a friendly atmosphere having read about the previous events.

Taking the following day off work as well. No choice really. Will need more than a couple of pints to be able to suspend disbelief for the main event :D

    Still though, can't wait!

Arse. Was in city centre a few days ago and never thought of picking up some tickets.

Exactly, everyone is just there to chill out and have the craic with other wrestling fans so you guys will fit in fine!

You should be alright buying in the next couple of weeks at least. We're running out of our Paypal allocation of tickets but still haven't sold out of our batch in Wrestling Mania! Tickets tend to sell faster coming up to the event, when people start making their definite plans, so if you're a few weeks ahead of that you won't be left out in the cold. Will post here to give notice if we start to run out earlier than anticipated though! :)

Just a heads up that we're now sold out of our Paypal allocation of tickets, meaning that all remaining tickets are for sale in Wrestling Mania, so please do not book any more via the link (though all new orders that come in from said link will be refunded ASAP, so don't worry if you read this after ordering!)
