Anybody know if it is possible to have a level 7 degree but then be allowed to enrol in a level 9 course.

If not anybody know why you have to complete a Level 8 before you can enrol on a Level 9 course?

Sometimes I think you can but only with a lot of work experience relevant to the masters.

But in general no, must be stepping stones: it would be a big leap academically and with limited places on masters available colleges wouldn't know how capable of coping with the level of work a student was. A level 8 hons degree generally has a research component as does most masters so it's a progression and allows you to specialise further.

Booooo. But Thank you for that. Have just emailed the course coordinators so we shall see. Its a pain, the course i did was a level 7 there was only one option available as a level 8 and had no interest in it. Currently working full time so could take up to a 2 years to get a level 8 even though if i had just stayed it would just be one. Working full time now and can't afford to go back full time. On top of all of this the course i am interested in it is the one and only course in this area and just so happens to be a level 9. If it was a level 6 i would even do it, its not about getting a level 9 for me i simply want the knowledge. Even if i wanted to get a level 8 in something else its a big rigamarole because i already have a level 7. Oh the silly decisions you make when you know no better.

Unless you have excellent industry experience its a no basically as said. Level 7 to 9 is big leap in terms of way things are taught and what is expected of students.
