It amazes me how the guys i thought were fairly smart pissed away their intelligence. A couple of them in particular could have went down the teacher/account/civil servant route and had a comfortable life, but no their in menial jobs.

One guy who was "the smartest in our year", i see him walking around town in a long black trench coat (even in summer), long hair and usually accompanied by similarly dressed people. For all i know he may have a very good job or maybe retired on his millions, but i doubt it.

A lot of fella's found out what their middle leg was for after secondary school and pissed away college drinking and chasing birds.

Fairly smart?Sure two honors in the leaving would get you any of those jobs.

One - used to be big into wrestling... and is now a professional wrestler
Two (slightly NSFW) - used to mad into guns and the army and is now a cover boy for a few gay magazines

Weird American kid called Marc was in National School with us for a while. Always wore funny tinted glassed and we used to scare the shít out of him by dropping beatles and spiders into his lap.

Him and his family moved back to the US after couple of months and I never heard about him again until he shot John Lennon. *

    * May or may not be a true story

I was one of the "odd ones" I guess at school - only because I was quite quiet and did well in exams. There were plenty of sound guys who did fairly well for themselves but also a significant minority of scumbags who made life hell for people (me included tbh).

I kept at it though. One day towards the very end of 6th year walking out of school with one of these guys who used to mock me, especially in earlier years, he more or less said, "how do you do it? how do you do well on exams and I don't", etc. Now I feel sorry for the guy - and fellas like him.

They spent their schooldays thinking they were hard men and big-time people. But I was the one who came out on top.

Clearly, I'm over all of that now ;)

I only know about 2 of them. 1 became a priest & another ended up in prison for selling drugs.

Not sure about the rest of them but I hope a lot of them are either dead or are complete failures. Massive bunch of assholes.

I've only been out of school a couple of years but basically there are three camps: those in some sort of further education, those on drugs and the unwed teenage mothers. One slapper I went to school with already has two kids by two different fellas and she's only 20.

A girl who was a couple of years behind me wore short skirts in primary and no knickers. She's a mum of 6.

she decided on her career path from an early age then:cool:

None of them became rock stars, politicians, professional athletes or reality tv stars.

They denied me the opportunity of declaring to all and sundry that "I went to school with him you know", the bastards.

I don't think I went to school with anybody who subsequently became famous. I can claim that I'm 'big in Asia' though.

I went to too many priomary schools, but i did trace a 2 girls from 2 of the 4 primary school i went too. They updated me on my former class mates. No one was married and no one had kids... Most stayed in the local area and only 1 or 2 moved away.

A girl 2 years down did however win the miss ireland title a few years back in 2001.

I went to school with this Kid who was in an accident. He couldn't come back to school for a while but when he finally did his hair had turned from black into bright white, he said it was from when the car had smashed so hard.

One guy (biggest chancer and thief you could ever meet - a good laugh too, to be fair) got into security work after school and is now one of the top security guys for a big chain store.

I'm guessing I was the nearest thing to being the weird guy but as I wasn't that weird. I guess we were pretty boring. I was friendly with the other weird guy in the class. He wore a cowboy hat and grew a beard before most of us even had wispy fluff on our chin. But was otherwise quite dull and boring. He ended up in the same dull boring job as me and as far as I know is still there.

In fact of my entire year in secondary school. I only know what happened to three of them. The guy above and another who worked in the same place as me and another guy who went on to be a decent league of Ireland player and manager. The rest have vanished off the face of the Earth. Never saw or heard of them again. They must have emigrated back in the eighties or something. I've googled their names and checked phone books, nothing. For heaven's sake I even appear on google and I'm nobody.

I was the teen who picked on everyone, went to school stoned every day, would be either in detention or suspended each week and gave the teachers nothing but sh*t. I remember walking out of one of my mock exams cause I was to stoned to do it..
I'm surprised I made it through school....

now I'm in a decent job in the financial sector, have a fairly OK amount of money coming in , done a PLC course and went on to a Diploma in Business (done really well in all exams, never failed an exam after I left school). Also dropped about 3 stone, and don't smoke sh*t anymore :P

I know one quite and geeky girl I went to school with, never would of taught it but she hasn't got a job or 3rd level education but does have 2 children by 2 different men..

People always don't end up where you think they will

I went to school in Swords with this weird skinny kid, with long hair. He was the kind of bloke who usually ended up hanging out of the coat hangers and left there. After a time, he used to talk himself out of it with his quick wit and used to have us in stitches with his stories. His name was Ed Byrne and obviously, he turned out to be a stand up comedian.

If there was ever a reason to hang someone with a coat hanger then its ed byrne "funny stories"

Well, if a black hole appears from the LHC, and a message from CERN is issued saying 'Screw you Cardbordwindow', just before the Earth is destroyed, then you'll know what happened.

I was a music loser kid but there was one regular loser kid who thought she was way better than everyone else (my mammy says I'm great), dressed oddly, was a teachers pet, one of the few obese young people I ever saw growing up no wonder as I remember she would almost always have half of a takeaway pizza in her lunch box, you'd think she'd be really nice and bubbly no she was a complete biatch I thought when I left school that would be the last of her but no.

As it goes by being a lick arse and doing every extra ciric things which must of paid off as sometimes I hear he on the radio and it does my head in because she is the kind of person who screwed people over to get where she wanted to be very sneaky.

JUst remembered the guy who flipped the lid one day in third year. He arrived into school with a belt around him that contained shotgun shells and looked decidedly...erm...affected. Our French teacher walked in, and the lad walked up to him and panned him out with a box and left with the words expelled following him down the corridor. A very Irish Columbine type incident.
Anyway, two years ago I saw him bouncing outside a pub in Dublin.

    Makikomi?
