Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I didn't know where to put this so After Hours will have to do..

We have a gas fire in the sitting room, and there are birds in the chimney. Once one of them came down into the sitting room and flew around like a maniac.

I want to but one of those yokes on top of the chimney (lets call it a chimney hat) to stop these birds coming down...however, i think there are baby birds in the chimney. My question: Is there anyway to get rid of these before I put the chimney hat on so I dont end up with a chimney full of dead baby birds??

yes dont put the chimney hat on till your positve the nest is empty and make sure to get your chimney swept as well, there could be all sorts of debris from nestbuilding there

If theres baby birds there now in 6 weeks or more they should be starting to leave id say.

Don't worry about a thing, every little thing is going to be alright.

just wait until the summer is over and the birds have fledged.

Then get the chimney swept and put a chimney cowl on it. you do realise birds will fit in small holes so make sure you get a decent cowl.

Some birds are protected by law so you wouldn't be able to do anything.
