Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi guys

Is anyone vacinating calves for IBR. I did all the weanlings last September but neighbour was saying they should be done as young as possible and then 4 months later again.
I have 25 calves ranging from 3 - 9 weeks and a couple are coughing intermittently but no nasal discharge .
I was told they should be done intranasal as calves and then into the muscle later. Is it worth doing now and what would you use for the intranasal. I presume it is just pumped up each nostril but i have never seen it done

    Cheers
    Miley

intranasally will show immunity after around 4 days, whereas into the muscle will take about 10 days after the injection. Intramuscally will have the longest period of cover for IBR so I would stress to just do them into the muscle as early as possible. When we started using the vaccine intranasally it was off label and authourity wasnt happy to hear of the farmers ingenuity
