Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a nine month old calf with a temperature. I gave him 20mg of Dexamethasone on Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday. He started with a temp of 103.5 degrees and now has a temperature of 102 degrees. He is not as active as i would like and is still scouring.

Do i need to get the vet again or will he come good on his own. He is currently out with other calves in a field.

Dex is only an anti-inflammatory , if he has a temperature he has an infection and needs an antibiotic and at this stage it needs to be a strong one given intravenously

AS far as iknow 102 is the right temp for an animal

    O.K

First an apology, the vet actually gave me Engemycin, he just filled it into an empty Dexamethasone bottle and gave it to me to inject the Calf.

The calf himself has now recovered with a temperature of 102 degrees, this must be the correct temperature, i thought it should be 101 degrees. It did however take him until yesterday before he came back to his old self, but i am glad to report that both he and I are now doing well.

    Thanks for the replies.
