Have cookie cutters - need recipe!

A friend of mine gave me cookie cutters as a gift, but I've never used them. What kind of cookie recipe would you use with them? I normally make cookies that are quite a wet mixture and just get dumped onto the tray in spoons. I was thinking shortbread or something, but I've no idea if it would work.

I always used this recipe when I was younger. I used a similar one recently and it worked well. I'd be interested in any other way of doing it though just to try out.
