Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Well, seeing as I'm the only one in here....


    The winner is, of course, Ico!

    I mean, sure, SMW is probably the best platformer on the Snes, sadly it is not the best Ninty platformer overall, the best of which was SMB3!
    As a result it is great but not that great, it's the Vanilla Coke to Ico's Cherry.

    Ico, on the other hand, is simply the best of it's kind.
    Could be seen as one of a kind!
    It's thematic partner, SOTC, is a very different game, sharing little more than a meta-setting and associated palette and audio.
    But Ico is something we see little of these days, a game without prequel or sequel, an IP that has remained un-exploited, a work of art that suffers no forgeries or tributes.
    So, vote ICO, you know it makes sense!

    And don't let the fact that a PS2 game might win "Videogame Deathmatch" over a Snes title put you off voting!! (or did I just do that... bugger!)

    No competition, mario world. Ico is good and all. Mario World on the other hand is just pure distilled platforming fun that is still great to go back to now.

    Actually, Super Mario World is a great great game.
    Choosing between them is a little ridiculous, given that they are so, so different.
    But I really love Ico as well, but it's replay value is nothing like that of SMW, a game with so much to give, so much love in every sprite and every level...

    The way I see it:

    Ico = excellent game with a wonderful artistic vision
    SMW = Perfection.

    And there's no topping perfection.

    As for SMB, perfection to be sure but Super Metroid is more perfect!
