Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Teaching in Irish Colleges

    Hey,

Do any Irish teachers out there have any insights on what it's like to be an Irish teacher in one of the summer Irish colleges? I've seen quite a few opportunities out there but no one I know seems to know anything about teaching in one of them.
What are the hours like? Is it normal teacher rate of pay? Do you have to find your own accommodation? Renting in those places seems quite expensive.

    Go raibh maith agaibh!

Did it for years, pay ok, but accommodation does eat into it.Great craic to be had, but the days are long, especially if you opt to check houses(extra dough.)Some places are better than others, where were you thinking of?

    Braitheann sé ar an gcoláiste.
Uaireanta caithfidh tú lóistín a eagrú tú féin. Uaireanta ní gcaithfidh. Bhí sé i gcónaí eagraithe domsa.
Uaireanta bíonn na uaireanta oibre gearr go leor, ranganna ar maidin, saor don tráthnóna. Uaireanta eile, bíonn ar na múinteoirí gach rud a eagrú don tráthnóna freisin.
Braitheann an t-airgead freisin, go h-áirithe má tá tú ag obair go lán-aimsireach i rith na bliana freisin.

Má tá tú i gcoláiste maith, bainfidh tú taitneamh as. Mar sin féin, is féidir leo a bheith "cliquey" freisin so uaireanta tá sé éasca a mhothú go bhfuil tú ar an taobh amuigh.
