Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whatever happened to Steve Finnan? He was getting injured quite a bit about 3 or so years ago, but his wiki doesnt mention whether he has officially retired. Great player, and quite young to have retired, if he has

Most likely a Free Agent at the moment. Will probably finish his career with in the lower leagues

At his peak he was considered one of the best defenders in the league. Odd to be a free agent for 2 years with that rep.

He kind of fell off the radar once he left Liverpool. His injury record didn't exactly help either

Luc nilis. Signed for villa and broke his leg had to retire IMO could've been one of the best centre forwards in the league

Fernando Nelson for Villa. Wasnt the worst player but didnt play much in the months before he left.

Probably already mentioned but Ian Woan had some left foot, anyone who remembers Sky early football will surely remember 'Ian Woan makes them moan' when he scored, I think, against Newcastle.

George Donis for Blackburn, was supposedly the 'fastest player in Europe' when he joined. Think he only scored twice for them and played with Sheffield United after for a while.

Woan was particularly fond of scoring against Newcastle. The equaliser he scored for Forest in the 1-1 draw in May 96 (consigning the Toon Army to 2nd place) was the fastest goal scored at the time in Premiership history, clocked at 91.8mph. Ironically that was beaten by Newcastle's Lauren Robert in 2000 who measured 93mph.

Davor Suker, joined Arsenal for a while and then West ham. Won the golden boot at a world cup

Wow, just read his wiki and found this:

"He is the only player to have played in the World Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, Intertoto Cup, all four levels of the English league football and the Football Conference."

That's actually quite remarkable. Beat that Grant Holt.

Speaking of "Fastest Player in Europe" please raise your memories for Dennis Rommedahl played for Charlton spent more time on the injury table and being linked with every other club than actually playing.

Jesper Grønkjær as well. Played for Chelsea in 2000-04. Was a strange player, could be amazing one game and just not show up the next.

Name the ex Everton midfielder who played alongside Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo et al at Real Madrid. He was a part of the Everton side who finished 4th in 2005.

I'd completely forgotten about him until I saw him in a best of Ronaldo video!

    Georgie Kinkladze. Absolute legend.

Egil Ostenstad. Good So'ton player for a while.

Marco Boogers. Nutter signed by Harry Redknapp who got sent off in his second game for almost halving Gary Neville and then fecked off to live in a caravan :pac:

Stephane Guivarc'h. World cup winner-total sh*te in about 6 months.

Still only 44. Pictures of that were in all the papers the next day. I remember his leg being folded over.

I had to struggle to remember Amr Zaki from Wigan. Had a great scoring run early on one season which later fizzled out. Was in a lot of FF teams I recall.

This could be a competition for the most obscure ex-Premiership players. I have'nt heard of any of the last lot posted.

Bosko Balaban - played a handfull of games for Villa in 2 1/2 yrs. Apparently ranked in the top 50 worst footballers by Time newspaper.

Jari Litmanen - Great player for Ajax, forgot he played for Liverpool. Had a stint for Fulham also but failed to make a first team appearence.

Sean Dundee - Had a season with Liverpool, what a disaster.

Istvan Kozma - Liverpool 91-93. Ranked 4th worst premiership player ever by Times online

Martin Dahlin - Had a spell at Blackburn. Great player for Sweden.
