    I just bought a Treated 16ft length of 2 x 4 for €10

I am sure you might do a lot better if you are buying a decent bit.

Heiton Buckleys and Chadwicks will also do those prices too.

Got a 16 foot length of it for a tenner in Heitons a few weeks back.

    A 16 foot length of PT 2 x 2 is 4 euro 64 cents.
    And 2 x 1 is 2 euro 85 cents.

Also 6 foot x 6 foot pressure treated trellis frames for 25 euro each.

All prices include vat and are to the public too.

    Hope this helps.

Why is 2x4 so popular? Whats its main purpose ? Im guessing its the most common size for building stuff?

I went with 2x3 in the end its €3.75 for a 9ft length.

Its more than strong enough for a frame, have to order about 60 of them though!
