    Definitley getting rid of Eircom now,received a letter from them about downloading music,final nail in the coffin.Why are they the only ISP to do this?Don't do it that much either yet my mates have thousands downloaded and they receive nothing.

    ****ing raging bunch of pricks :mad:

    They were forced by a court order.
    Being that Eircom is the National provider for Broadband and Phones services they were the main target for record companys.

    Alot of people have left Eircom over this most switching to Vodafone and other providers.

    illegally downloading copyrighted material is a breach of the T&C of all service providers.

    Hey I was just wondering, let's say someone is on a 12 month bb package with eircom and want out early, do they just need to go mad on d torrents and problem sorted, or do they still have to pay after being cut off?

    I know right? Better say your goodbyes to all your loved ones now op. Eircom are overpriced and generally bad anyway and have always been that way :P.

    Never heard of that.
    Eircom 3 strikes usually apply to people using Torrents.
    As they are basically downloading songs from a computer setup to catch the ip of people doing the downloading.
    they notify Eircom, and voila.

    I wouldn't say that's the best way to get out of a contract.:o
