Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Embarrassing things you’ve done in front of the in-laws/other half’s family

I was watching Meet The Parents over the Easter Weekend and I was thinking After Hours must have some great stories to tell us all about embarrassing moments people have had in front of their in-laws.

Unfortunately the only story I can relay is second hand but it’s still a good one. A friend of mine was stopping at his girlfriend’s house for the first time. They had just come back from the pub and this friend of mine was very drunk. Anyway they both fell asleep in his girlfriend’s room and he woke up during the night to go to the toilet. He went to the toilet, still very groggy and tired, and stumbled back into a bedroom which turned out to be his girlfriend’s parents bedroom. Cue a load of commotion as some pissed up randomer tried to get into bed with them! After the shouting and screaming, the father ended up over-powering him and slammed him to the floor with his hand on his throat shouting “Who the fuck are you?!” The girlfriend had neglected to tell the parents she had a boyfriend let alone he was staying round! What a great first impression! The relationship didn't last sadly.

Who’s got a better story then?

I know a guy who went to visit his girlfriends parents for the first time and when he was parking the car he drove over the family dog. So the first the parents seen of this guy was him walking up the driveway carrying their dead dog.
They ended up getting married though so they forgave him!

It wasn't so much something embarrassing that I did, more something embarrassing being done to me.

pebbled dashed their bog, then smugly walked out and said :

"Think you're gonna need a plumber"

They weren't impressed but I was.
