Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Would you be able to help me or point me in the right direction where i should look for help?
I have small transport company (actually man and the Van :))) and going very often to Europe. I usually choose landbridge with Stena Line (Dublin-Holyhead and Harwich-Hook of Holland) but the ferries are getting more and more expensive. As of now I'm driving a individual but i should go as freight (its even more expensive as i have to little vans and I'm not traveling to often).
Is there anything that can be done to lower my ferry cost?
Choosing an other route isn't an option as this is optimal route (milage and rest wise)

Get rid of your van and buy one of these bad boys, problem solved.

i'm not sure if that kind of DIY van/boats would be a good idea. To slow for police and coast guard and not enough room.
    Thanks for trying :)

But for real any better idea? And no planes and submarines please :)

I think I would consider getting 51% shares in ferry company. What you think about this?
Read carefully what i have written on the top and you should figured out why i can't buy a boat :)

Everyone needs a boat. And a boat solves everyone's problems.

In fact, just the other day I couldn't decide if I wanted Corn Flakes or Coco-Pops so y'know what I did? I bought a boat. Problem solved.

But then you still don't have a boat...?

I don't think you fully appreciate how much you are in need of a boat.

Arto,Why dont you find out of other transport companies who bring produce to the continent and return in empty truck/trailers.

Could they bring back stuff for you?(Kill 2 birds and all that)

I know of a transport company who bring fish to Spain(La Coruna) and Im fairly sure that they return empty.

The OP needs to hire his own company to do it. That way he can line his own pockets.

Thanks for that. I've already checked that. I have stuff to go to/ and from the continent. Going myself is still cheaper (even with expensive ferries) than go with them.
