Anyone know how you get Eircom to move the phone line to the front of the house. I am knocking a wall and need it moved from where it is...
Electrician doesn't know where it comes in from, I had two to look at it. so I guess I need an infrastructural Eircom engineer to move it.
I'm guessing they would move it in 20 mins.

Any ideas? is there a company that contracts for eircom I could use?

wont your electrician just join it and move it to your new position?
im sure thats what eircom will do(for a much larger fee)

well, he cant find where it actually comes in... from, I had two guys take a look. they can only connect to it and bring the wire under the floor which is messy.

I basically want eircom to just connect to the main connection outside... and bring it straight into the hall.

if you think joining is messy, what do you think eircoms solution will be

    wha?
they will just bring a cable in through the front with the other cables.

Its no big deal, its better than digging up floorboards and using ducting.

    this thread may help
note option 2 of eircom reply
they say the cheapest and best option is to organise a sparks to do it
    i agree with that option
it will be the quickest too
update the thread if you can
    cheers

yes, its possibly cheapest. I understand what you mean.
But the 2 sparks didn't have a clue, as I have said many times in the post... the first was an alarm fitting guy and the second a straightforward sparks, I have him a call out fee anyway...

I want a straight forward connection straight to my hallway.
Thats what I want, simple as that. I don't want a loop of cable going all over the place. under floor of dining room, sitting room and then into hallway... I am going to move my equipment.. have DVR's / NAS / routers etc.. all there...

I like stuff done right I guess, thanks for your advice though I appreciate it.
