18" Ford ST alloys are in need of repair. All four the lacquer is peeling (common fault) and one also has a slight kerb damage.

I'm based in Kerry, can anyone recommend a good company to carry out this type of repair?
From a previous thread, both paintdoctor.ie and wheeldoctor.ie where listed but both of these websites are down. Has anyone used them recently?

I will either get them re-lacquer or powder coated, pending on price.

I was paintdoctor, the website is long gone as the owner of the franchise left the business. I stopped doing wheels a long time ago as they were just too much hassle for the money involved. I'm winding up my own business at the moment regardless, should be hanging up the spray guns in 6 weeks or so.

Even though Alloys seem specialised, any decent bodyshop will be able to paint them for you. Try having a chat to some local to you and see how you get on.

    Sorry to hear that Owen.

Just to ask another alloy related question. Is getting an alloy

    welded/repaired worth it.

Hi Owen, thanks for your reply. Hopefully you won't miss your spray gun too much!

Depends on the rarity of the Alloy. If you could source a secondhand one off eBay for 50-80 quid, then no. If it's something ludicrously expensive, or ultra rare, then repair, but only get it done by someone who can weld an alloy properly. Lots say they can, but only a few are gifted enough to do it.

Cheers for that, only a standard Subaru alloy so its not worth the bother.

I'll buy a decent second hand ones so. Thanks.
