Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

42" philips TV is broke, brought to a TV repair shop and he reckons the power supply something or other is gone and wants to charge me €240 to fix it

is it worth fixing? (whats a new 42" inch going for nowadays) i paid over a grand for it back in the day, its still looks the part.

Any other TV repair shops in Dublin that can be recommended? Maybe a second opinion maybe needed, i hear capicitators go on them and they are only are only bout a fiver to buy.

Would certainly be the usual suspects but it's not quite that simple. Dried out caps can lead to failure of other components that need to be diagnosed. That said 240 does sound a bit steep !! Get a second opinion.
